nmnl is a new subscription box by the brains behind Tokyo Treat and Yume Twins. They promise to deliver a Japanese beauty experience curated by people familiar with the current trends in Japan. I was really pleased with the first nmnl box in February – the items were current and trending so I was able to get retail prices for almost anything which, to me, added to the value of the box.

DEAL:  Save $3 on your first box! Use coupon code 3off.

The booklet is brief but contains all the information necessary. This month’s theme is Skincare Essentials. I know some people will be disappointed at the lack of makeup items, but I think that good skincare helps create the canvas you need for makeup. So I don’t mind this interlude. And Japan has some awesome skincare products.

Dotfree Deep Clay Mask ($8.13) 2 different clays, charcoal, and AHA help to remove dirt and impurities, and it contains collagen to restore moisture. Leave it on clean skin for 5 minutes and then rinse.

Derizum Moisture Veil Skin Cream ($10.85) This moisturiser is packed full of amino acids, ceramide, and is suitable for sensitive skin! You only need a small amount.

The creepy baby faces are not on the actual products.

Shiseido Perfect Whip Shiseido is a name we all recognise! In Japan, there are multiple lines and price points, not just the pricey products you can get at Sephora. Perfect Whip is their most popular face washes. It’s creamy and doesn’t dry out your skin.

Melon All-in-One Gel This packaging is so cute. But inside it has a melon-based gel that can do everything – hydrate, tone, and prime the skin for makeup.

It comes with a little spoon!

You only need a tiny amount so this should last a long time.

Lip Dress To pamper your lips, nmnl included an unscented lip balm with SPF to protect your pout. It contains shea butter and jojoba oil.

This month’s nmnl box wasn’t the most exciting since there was no crazy makeup, but it was a solid skincare routine. I like that we were sent an entire regimen (cleanser, toner, moisturiser, mask treatment, and lip balm) instead of being heavy on sheet masks or any other single product. I hope they’re back to focusing on makeup next month!
