Ladies of Legend is the only exclusively female character based subscription box. They feature two female comic book characters each month (a hero and a villain or antihero) from Marvel or DC. They always include a graphic novel or multiple comics starring our female lead, a Funko figure, and 2-5 other items, one of which is usually a “girly item, such as jewelry or bath products. They also offer t-shirts with exclusive art in the “Super” version of the box!
This is a review of the March Hero box, which features Captain Marvel! Captain Marvel, AKA Carol Danvers, is one of the coolest female characters in the Marvel universe. She was in the Air Force, she worked at NASA, and eventually joined up with the Avengers. Carol Danvers has been also worn the mantle of Ms Marvel, Binary, and Warbird. The new Captain Marvel movie is out in 2019 (boooo, so far away!) and I’m really looking forward to it!

First up – some lovely stickers! One includes the Ladies of Legend logo while the other includes super cute chibi (small) art of Captain Marvel! So adorable!
This officially licensed decal is hard to see as it’s white on white, but it’s the Captain Marvel logo with the text as seen on the left. This would be awesome on a laptop cover or a bumper.
Ladies of Legend always includes a comic or graphic novel featuring the month’s hero. Earth’s Mightiest Hero Vol 2 ($19.99) is a good collection of issues featuring Captain Marvel.
The trade includes Captain Marvel 13-17 as well as some issues of Avengers Assemble and Avenging Spider-Man! What I love is that a woman writes for Captain Marvel – awesome ladies writing awesome lady characters is my jam.
I’m excited to read this – Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman) is another favourite of mine!
One of the many enjoyable things about a multi-story trade is that you get to see the different artists’ renditions of the characters.
I won’t lie, I squeed when I pulled out the Captain Marvel Rock Candy Vinyl ($9.69)! How adorable is she? The new run of Captain Marvel features her sporting a shorter do, and I love how they’ve captured her fauxhawk here.
Two little organza bags in red and blue were tucked into the box.
In one was a Lego-compatible minifig! The detail on this is awesome! It includes another interchangeable head featuring the masked version.
The other bag features stud earrings. My ears aren’t pierced but I can find a geeky friend to gift these to.
I was really impressed with my Ladies of Legend box! It’s always exciting to receive a box full of goodies featuring a character you already love. My vinyl has its new home on my shelf and I’m digging into the comic today as it’s rainy and dreary outside.
