Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription – get 5 items in a cute bag for $10 a month! It’s the most popular subscription box and a great way to sample new colors and beauty brands.

TIP: Subscribe to notifications so you see the December 2016 Ipsy Spoilers – I will open the monthly referral link giveaway with the first spoiler! And if you like this subscription, check out our list of Birchbox alternatives!

The theme for this month is Carpe P.M.

The back of the card doesn’t have details on the items – there are many bag variations every month – but it tells you how to log in to your account to check out how-to videos and tips for your products. They’ve also started emailing out product information and tips from their influencers!

The bag this month is cute and fuzzy (but also a little cheap looking, it’s not my favorite one)!  The inside is lined in a gold metallic fabric.

Everything in my pouch!

Hanalei Lip Treatment ($6.33) It looks like I missed an individual photo, but it’s right above in the peach tube.

This lanolin based balm has some great oils, including kukui seed and shea butter. It does also use petrolatum. When I tested this out it lasted an exceptionally long time on my lips. I liked this one, but I would have liked it better if it was all natural.

tarte Maracuja Oil ($6.50) Score! Maracuja is rich in essential fatty acids and vitamin C to help firm, brighten, and smooth skin. You can also use it to smooth down flyaways (apply to skin and glide hands over hair). I have dry skin so I love this, but tarte says this is one of those oils that’s perfect for oily skin, as it helps tamp down sebum production. I love this product, it’s such a win to get it in ipsy!

I also loved actually seeing the Maracuja!

MintPear Beauty Blending Sponge ($12.32 – $20 from manufacturer) I’m happy to have a cheap BeautyBlender knockoff, but I probably wouldn’t buy one, although I do like this shape! If you don’t think BeautyBlender is everything Amazon has tons of similar products on the BeautyBlender page, just check them out – there are versions that are less than 25% of this one’s price.

City Color Cosmetics Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon, Blackberry, and Guava ($3.16) Not a fan of this talc based blush trio – it smelled like baby powder. This is one of those brands that leaves me scratching my head. They aren’t the best quality but I have found and use some favorites from it, it’s just not something I’m going to be excited to receive in the mail. It is, however, cruelty-free. I take this as an easy way to try out colors but after that, I personally have no use for it given the strong scent.

OFRA Cosmetics Bliss Eyeshadow/Highlighter ($12) OMG this is so gorgeous! It definitely makes up for the City Color (sorry City Color)!

I thought this was going to turn out to be a champagne shimmer but it turned out a creamy, shimmery bronzey rose gold. It’s absolutely gorgeous, applies well, and I love it. You can also use it as a highlighter!

I estimated the value of my bag this month at about $40. It definitely wasn’t my favorite, but I was happy with the tarte & the Ofra?!!

You got some nice pampering products! I got the Hannelai lip treatment in a previous bag and loved it! I liked the light vanilla scent, and it makes a great night treat. I have super oily skin and love the Maracuja oil. Also love the Bliss Ofra shadow/highlighter.
