November’s theme was Happy Thanksgiving! My son has been telling everyone how excited he is to eat turkey for Thanksgiving. I’m confident this box will further his excitement for the holiday even more.
The box arrived with everything my son needed to learn more about the first Thanksgiving.
My son was very interested in “The Story of the Pilgrims” by Katharine Ross ($3.99). I think this was his first exposure to the origins of Thanksgiving. He wanted to learn more about Native Americans and the Pilgrim immigrants who settled in America.
My son and I made dreamcatchers a couple of months ago in another subscription box, but my son decided we needed a third so that all the bedrooms in our house had one of their own. He was eager to get to work.
He enjoyed threading the yarn through holes on the enclosed hoop.
Afterwards, he enjoyed stringing beads to the bottom of his dreamcatcher.
After threading the bottoms of feathers through the beads, he was done! He promptly put this in his sister’s bedroom.
My son has used rainsticks for years, though he didn’t realize that they originally had a ceremonial use. He was thrilled to get to make his own.
After helping him stuff a flap containing a piece of cardboard inside the enclosed tube, my son took over and poured beads inside the tube.
He enjoyed decorating his tube with the enclosed stickers.
For his final craft, my son created a turkey out of plates, foam, googly eyes and glue.
He enjoyed this project very much!
Once he had finished his turkey, he told me he couldn’t wait to eat a turkey on Thursday!
After he uses this placemat for his Thanksgiving dinner, my son plans to cut up these pretend play treats so that he can recreate our meal whenever he pleases.
What a fun box! My son and I had a great time gearing up for the Thanksgiving with Bramble Box this month. We can’t wait to see what they send us next month!
Have you tried Bramble Box yet? What did you think?
