Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. Your stylist will send you 5 pieces based on your profile for you to try on at home and hopefully fall in love with. There are no coupons for Stitch Fix but if you hit the jackpot and keep everything, you save 25% on your whole fix (read below for details).

New this month – Stitch Fix for men, and size exchanges! Guys can now sign up for Stitch Fix, and handy size exchanges are available right from the app or website. Checkout will indicate what other sizes are available, and this is fabulous!

Everything always comes wrapped so neatly!  It makes it really fun to open!

Every box includes a set of styling cards with suggestions on how to wear the particular item. There’s usually a dressed up (right) and dressed down (left) version for each piece of clothing. I do wish these cards were accessible in your Stitch Fix profile. If you email them they’ll send them via PDF.

I  find the styling cards very helpful. I am not a naturally good-at-fashion person and these help a LOT. Even if I don’t keep the pieces I use them as inspiration – like my own personal fashion editor!

Here’s how Stitch Fix works: fill out your style profile! This includes style, budget, what you’re looking for, and you can get as detailed as you want with the notes to your stylist. It really really does help to provide notes to what you’re seeking, and a Pinterest board if you have one!

You will also receive a separate paper with a list of your items. You’ll be charged a $20 styling fee and shipped five items to try on at home. If you keep anything your styling fee will be applied to your order, but if you don’t, you will pay the $20 fee.

The styling fee is so worth it – I never go clothes shopping anymore. I just wait for my fix! If you keep everything you get a 25% discount, so it pays off to be specific in your style profile . You will check out and get charged through your Stitch Fix account. Return the pieces you don’t want in the prepaid mailer (free shipping!).

If I kept everything in the box, this fix would be $206.50 – about $41 per item (after the styling fee I already paid for).

Everything in my fix for October.

Mark & Spruce Embroidered Henley Knit Top ($54) Oh my, this one looks like it dips really low and if it was any lower I couldn’t wear it, but as it turns out it was absolutely perfect for me. I love the tunic silhouette and the bold black and white print.

Also a fan of these half-length sleeves with the button detail. I love the fabric too. It’s soft and cozy!stitch-fix-october-2016-5

Simple but really classic, and a keeper!stitch-fix-october-2016-6

Skies are Blue Carlina Cross Back Knit Top ($48) I like the bright colors of this piece but the cross-back detail and the horizontal stripes make it a no for me.

I left feedback for my stylist on the cute and style of this piece. While I was there I added “and no cold-shoulder” tops for good measure – it was featured in an email and it’s just not my thing.stitch-fix-october-2016-8

Brixon Ivy Elmar Embroidered Cutout Blouse ($64) Love the color, and the length, and I like that my stylist selected necklines that weren’t too high.

This one was pretty flowy and featured embroidered cutouts on the sleeves.stitch-fix-october-2016-10

19 Cooper Misla Tie-Neck Blouse ($68) Some people might see this as fussy, but I thought it was fun, with a great interplay of color and patterns – and these are the kinds of tassels I can live with!  It was obvious to me that my stylist was focusing on a particular silhouette this month – and it’s one that really works for me, so I’m happy!

RD Style Giana Open Drape Cardigan ($68) Come to mommy!  I love this flowy cardigan, and as my stylist noted I can just flip the cuffs back. This is pretty similar to another sweater I’ve received, as least as far as the knit goes, but the style is totally different. I *live* in my cardigans so I was thrilled. I love how this is nice and warm but also lengthens my silhouette instead of cutting me off in the middle.

I was super happy with this fix – and even better I didn’t spend a second of time shopping! I’m always happy with the value and I liked what I saw this month. I don’t keep everything, but I’m more than happy to pay my styling fee for this time saving service.
