IMG_9431This month’s package arrived well-packed with pieces of paper providing extra support during transport. Once I removed them, I was greeted by a delightful collection of illustrated children’s books. Both of my kids were so excited to see what was inside that it was difficult taking pictures first!

IMG_9433Along with the books, this month’s box arrived with an activity booklet. I loved the definition on the front! This is one move that my kids have down!

These activities are perfect for my son! He loves coloring and completing word searches! I love that each month brings new activities for my son to complete. He cannot get enough of them!

IMG_9432In addition to the activity sheet, the package contained four picture books: “Bad Apple’s Perfect Day” by Edward Hemingway; “Little Poems for Tiny Ears” by Lin Oliver; “Two Girls Want a Puppy” by Ryan and Evie Cordell; and “Everyone Sleeps” by Marcellus Hall.

“Bad Apple’s Perfect Day” by Edward Hemingway ($14.61) is a delightful story about an apple and his worm friend. Together, they go on an array of adventures. Other apples come and go, but they stick together. Even when it seems like a tragedy has occurred, the two friends make the most out of it and don’t let it get them down. The result is a fun, fabulous day–The Perfect Day!

“Little Poems for Tiny Ears” by Lin Oliver ($11.98) is just that–a collection of 1 or 2 page poems that are sure to delight even the youngest children. Poems cover the array of life experiences that babies face daily–diapers, belly buttons, peek-a-boo, etc. Both of my kids thought this was great, and after reading it, my son thought he had a better understanding of what a poem is.

“Two Girls Want a Puppy” by Ryan and Evie Cordell ($16.16) is a delightful story of two sisters who try to persuade their father to get them a puppy. After their father initially says no, they come up with an action plan to prove to their father that they are capable enough to handle the responsibility of a pet. After reflecting on the girls’ initiative, perseverence, research and responsibility, their father eventually comes around and the three go to a shelter together as a family. My son loved this book. He has been asking my husband and me for a pet for about six months now, and we keep saying “no.” I wonder whether he’ll take the message in this book to heart, proving to us that he’s ready to take on the responsibility of a pet.

In “Everyone Sleeps” by Marcellus Hall ($10.87), a dog who’s not tired ventures out to see if anyone else is awake. After observing a number of animals, all of whom are asleep, he returns home where he finally finds a little girl who’s awake. They snuggle together and he falls asleep. Although I enjoyed this book, it surprised me: I kept thinking the dog would encounter a nocturnal animal, but he never did. Instead, he continued to find animal after animal that was fast asleep at night. My son enjoyed learning about how different animals sleep in this book.

My kids love this subscription! Whenever the box arrives, my kids always gather around to see what goodies are inside. I’m thrilled that this subscription brings so much joy and quality family time to our home each month.

I really enjoyed this month’s Read to Me Case from BookCase.Club! All four of these books were new to us, and we will happily read them again and again. These books were all engaging and included great, age-appropriate messages and themes. This was a real win for us. We can’t wait to see what they send next month!
