Bluum is a subscription box service that sends products for moms and babies to your home each month. Bluum curates its boxes by selecting the highest-rated products geared for a child’s particular age. Boxes are available for pregnant moms and moms with children between the ages of 0 and 5.

Each box arrives well-packaged with attractive tissue paper and a card describing the box’s intended recipient–in this case, a 23 month old child.

Unlike many subscriptions, Bluum gives you the option of selecting your own products each month. Up until now, I have let Bluum curate my boxes. The reasons were twofold: 1) Brandy told me that boxes curated by Bluum tend to have a higher retail value 2) By the time I logged into my account, there wasn’t much left to choose from! This month, though, I logged in as soon as I received my box last month and was pleased with what I saw. Here were my selections:

Books, toys and arts supplies! My daughter was very excited about what she saw.

I’m pleased that the picture this month features a girl! img_0373

Manhattan Toy Company’s Folksy Forester Large Teddy Bear ($20) is soft and cute. My daughter loves him. She takes her teddy on walks and sleeps with him at night. We’ve also started calling him “Corduroy.” My daughter likes holding him as we read “Corduroy” by Don Freeman together.

I like the illustrations in “The Secret Garden: A Flowers Primer” by Jennifer Adams ($8.66) very much. Each set of pages introduces children to a different flower.

“Wind In The Willows” Adapted From The Story By Kenneth Grahame ($10? The book appears to be out of print) is a sweet tale of a mole who leaves his home and goes on a series of adventures with a rat, toad and badger. My son and I love this book! I never read the original, so I don’t have anything to compare this to, but for what it’s worth, this version feels complete to me.

My kids were both excited to try Eeboo’s Carnival Glitter Glue ($4.19). Once I squeezed really hard to unleash the glue, my kids both had fun drawing with it.

I liked my selections this month. Since I picked them myself, I was able to choose products that I knew would be appealing to my kids. I plan to do the same thing next month.

I finally got my September box, in October. There was a “shipping” delay; but I had to email them to find out where my box was before they would tell me that. Anyway I only got two of the four items I picked again this month. I find it extremely aggravating that you “pick your own items” yet they just ship whatever they want to. You’re lucky to get any of the items you pick. Then they usually sub in some super cheap item vs something of higher value that you picked. Very glad my sub is finally over, I will NEVER sign up for this sub, definitely never pay $34 for it!
