July 2016 Yummy Bazaar Full Experience Subscription Box Review – USA Box

Yummy Bazaar delivers gourmet food items to your door monthly.  The items for the Destination Food Club are carefully selected from a different single country every month.  With the Full Experience you’ll get 6-8 full sized gourmet items from your destination for $35.95.  There is also a Sampler subscription that sends 6-8 sample sizes from various countries for $9.95.  We received the Full Experience box.

This month’s featured destination was America!  As always, the box was packed in a smartly utilitarian, corrugated, brown paper, and tape combo.  It is a very clever packing scheme — recyclable and cool looking.

The guide provides recipes you can make using the items in the box!

The product description pages give a brief description of each item, along with several suggested uses, the retail price, and the origin.

Everything in this box was made in the US of A — I was curious to dig in and see how they would represent the 50 states! Best of? Most American foods? ingredients most unique to our country?

Everything was packed snugly to avoid any damage during shipping.

The Great San Saba River Pecan Company ($9.95) This syrup is perfect to add some pecans and sweetness to anything that uses syrup – ice cream, pancakes, waffles, biscuits! I loved how it including toppings in with the syrup – it was yummy!

Hidden Springs Maple Organic Buttermilk Pancake Mix ($5.95) These organic pancakes cooked up beautifully – and required only water, oil, and an egg! We were surprised by the lightness of their color, but they were delicious and our kids ate nearly the entire batch in one sitting!

Cape May Peanut Butter Co. Natural Peanut Butter ($6.25)  I love fresh, nutty peanut butter. Cape May’s butters bear the grind date on the label and this was ground just a few weeks prior. I prefer a bit more salt in my peanut butter but these are just peanuts and salt, no added sugar, so it really doesn’t need much!

Red Rocker Candy Honey Roasted Virginia Peanuts ($7.95) These are HIGHLY ADDICTIVE! They are perfectly sweet and salty and I can’t stop eating them. I loved that they aren’t too sweet – and they’re superfresh too.

Topical Valley Foods Organic Dried Pineapple ($6.95) I loved that Yummy Bazaar didn’t stick with the continental US (although I hope they do a Hawaii box by itself – that would be fun!). These are unsweetened and unsulphured and organic, which lets the natural flavor shine through. They are a little ugly but super delicious!

Fresh Ideas Rosemary Garlic Popcorn Seasoning ($4.95) I work late so I am always in need of a night snack, which is most often microwave nachos or popcorn. And I love putting bizarre seasonings on both! This is perfect for a savory popcorn snack (and I don’t like sweet popcorn)! It’s very good!

Blue Crab Bay Company Clam Dip Kit ($6.99) This clam dip kit includes a jar of chopped clams and a seasoning blend. This item is not for me – I don’t care for seafood – so I’ll regift it to someone who’s in love with clam dip. Very American?

Bone Doctors’ Sweet & Spicy Barbeque Sauce ($5.95) I’m so happy to see this sauce! It’s first of all delicious – but it’s also all natural with about 1/4 of the sugar of a supermarket BBQ sauce. It has a great zing to go along with a fruity sweetness.

Terrapin Ridge Farms Pecan Honey Mustard ($6.15) I first tried this out in the November 2015 POPSUGAR Must Have Box! Here’s what I wrote: I love this all-natural brand! This one tastes so good and I’ve been using it for my pretzels (I am really partial to eating everything like this either on pretzels, or with crackers and cream cheese – I loaded up on all of these at the store this week!). You could use it to cook with – but mine will be gone before that ever happens.

That jar never made it to the experimentation phase, so I’m committed to trying this one on some baked chicken.

We love Yummy Bazaar – always so much fun, and this trip through the United States was a lot of fun too!  The box had about a $63 value and I enjoyed everything (except the clam dip!). I think they may have been a bit obsessive and peanuts and pecans. Or at least the peanuts, which are grown all over the world. Pecans are exclusively North American (I think!) and I’m pretty obsessed with them to the point of not ever baking with walnuts (why use a walnut when you can use a pecan?!). I’m also from the south and we pick up pecans in the backyard!
