Sci-Fi Block is a monthly sci-fi geek subscription box. It’s part of the Nerd Block family, and every month you’ll get 4-6 epic items plus a custom sci-fi themed t-shirt.
The info card.
Everything in my July 2016 Sci-Fi Block!
Sci-Fi Block Exclusive NASA Apollo 11 Lapel Pin: This is legit awesome for any sci-fi nerd! It commemorates of course the mission that landed the first man on the moon. This is the first NASA item I’ve ever received in a box and I think it’s really special. Maybe they can convince NASA to let us have the worm (the throwback red “futuristic” logo that’s now retired).
The Wit & Wisdom of Star Trek by Robb Perlman ($11.55 for hardcover) We received a softcover version of this book, which contains trivia, quotes, and lots of photos from TOS. Nerd Block seems super focused on Original, and I’m wondering if that’s a Canadian thing because I want to see more TNG (obviously I’m a ST nerd in general so I like this item!).
This is one of my FAVE eps from TOS!
And of course the classic Tribbles ep! After I enjoy this book I’m regifting it to my cousin who is.. wait for it.. an even bigger Star Trek nerd than I am. I know, you wouldn’t think it would be possible, but it is!
Aliens Original Motion Picture Soundtrack: 1000 subscribers received a limited edition Green Chase variant (as shown in the card above). I’m not crazy about this item because I don’t have a record player – but aforementioned cousin will enjoy it.
ShirtPunch Shoot First Shirt: An homage to Star Wars, it’s styled like the Foo Fighters’ eponymous album (funny enough their futuristic ray gun is way more “futuristic” than Han Solo’s!).
Here’s what the card says: The self-titled debut of the galaxy’s most scruff-looking band includes the hits “This is a Subspace Call,” “Alone + Stay on Target,” “Oh, George (Lucas).” and “For All The Banthas.” See the album listing for the comparable songs!
Ghostbusters Peter Venkman Uniform Apron ($19.99): This is a fun and witty item (and a high quality screen too!). Bonus – doubles as Halloween outfit! Double bonus – it’s prerelease and not available for sale yet, so it was also cool to get it in the box!
Bonus – it’s an original item! Looks good on dudes too.
All Nerd Blocks now come with a $10 credit for ShirtPunch.com! Shirt Punch has shirts as low as $10 (shipping $6), so you can get a shirt around $6, which is an awesome deal, but I love the daily bundles they have! After you use your code SAVE YOUR CARD – you have to try to collect all 9 pieces to get a completed puzzle and get a $100 card. I’m betting there will be only a few linchpin puzzle pieces.
The box also came with Hello Fresh Gift Code. Either get a $50 Discount on your First two Boxes by using coupon code HF50SUMMER and this link to subscribe (valid for new customers only. Classic, Veggie or Family Box. Expires 07-31-2016) Or save $40 off your first box with coupon code 7UT7K8.
This was a cool box! Not wild about the vinyl except in vinyl record subscription boxes, but give me Trek, NASA, and a cool Ghostbusters item and I’m pretty pumped! My husband stole the shirt, oh well! It’s one of my favorite subscriptions and I was really happy to see them focusing on space this month!

Thanks for explaining the T-shirt. I didn’t understand it, even after I read the card.
The NASA geek in me loves the pin, but this entire box is pretty awesome.
