MISHIBOX (pronounced “me-she”) is a monthly Korean beauty subscription service that sends 5-6 deluxe sized samples and full sized products for $19.95 a month plus an additional fee for shipping depending on where you need it shipped ($3.95 to the U.S. and its territories).

My items were shipped in a pink cardboard box and were wrapped in teal tissue paper sealed with the MISHIBOX bunny logo.

The presentation was very nice and all the items arrived safe and sound.

Everything in my box! I am fairly new to the world of Korean beauty but so far I love it for the packaging alone! Korean women love dewy, glowing skin and there are a ton of products out there to help you achieve that look. There may be extra steps that we don’t usually take the time for here in the U.S., but with a little bit more effort we can come close!

I love product information cards and this one gave a link where you can find a translated list of ingredients for this month’s items. It also shows how to figure out manufacture and expiration dates too.

The flip side gave instructions on how to use the products and the retail price. This is one of the most detailed product information cards I have ever seen and it is extremely helpful since most of us probably can’t read the instructions on the packages. MISHIBOX doesn’t customize the boxes but the items I received this month seemed pretty universal.

TONYMOLY Mango Hand Butter ($8) How cute is this lotion? It’s shaped like a mango! It smells delicious and contains mango and sunflower seed oils and shea butter. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to get the product out but the middle is soft and the product was easy to squeeze out. Which is awesome because I love it!

COSRX Blackhead Silk Finger Ball ($4.25) There were 12 silk worm cocoons in this package and each one can be used 2-3 times. Simply soak the ball in warm water for a few minutes and then stick it on your finger and gently rub over problem areas to exfoliate and remove sebum and blackheads. I gave it a try and wasn’t sure if it was doing anything but there was residue on the ball after I rubbed it around my nose, cheeks, and chin. When I stuck it back in the warm water to clean it off the water immediately became murky so I know these are doing something to my skin. Next time I am going to use one after a shower in the hopes that my pores will be opened from the steam.

Here is a close up of a clean ball. If the silk threads become matted down you can remove them and use it again.

TONYMOLY Kiss Kiss Lovely Lip Patch ($2.08) Another super cute item that promises to moisturize with glycerin and a trio of berry extracts. It was kind of hard to keep these on my face and since my lips are small to begin with I felt like I had to make a duck face to get some contact with actual skin. I played around with it afterwards and realized this is almost exactly the same as those gel window stickers and slappy hands that my kids would get from the treasure box at the dentist. I also didn’t notice any true moisturizing effect either. It was kinda fun to strut around like Mick Jagger for a bit.

Tosowoong Soft Touch Sun Cream ($18.89) In Korea women teach their daughters to use sunscreen at a very young age. This mineral-based sunscreen has a pleasant smell and rubs in easily. Also contains tea and lotus extracts and is good for sensitive and troubled skin. I love sunscreen and I am always happy to add to my collection.

Mediheal TeaTree Care Solution Essential Mask EX  ($1.01) I don’t think any K-beauty box is complete without a sheet mask! Mediheal adds tea tree oil for its oil-fighting abilities and says this mask is super for acne-prone skin types. As with most sheet masks, apply to skin after cleansing and toning and then go watch your favorite sitcom. If there is any essence left over after you remove the mask then gently pat it into the skin. I didn’t notice much of a tea tree scent or any scent at all (I dislike highly perfumed face care items) and since you have to sort of incline your head to keep them on it forces me to sit down for a while. (Caution: may make you decide to keep watching Pitch Perfect 2 or whatever long after the actual mask benefits have been absorbed).

I loved my July MISHIBOX! My box had a value of $34.23. This box was fun and yet at the same time it addressed several important skin care concerns. Korean skincare may be cute but at the same time it has to be hardworking since there is a lot of competition in the market. Keep in mind that K-beauty products are known to contain some rather strange ingredients (Snail slime! Donkey milk!). Having said that, I can’t wait to see what will come in the next box!
