July 2016 Book Case Club Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Strange Worlds Case

I picked the Strange Worlds case!

I received 1 hard  back book and 1 soft book  in the fantasy genre. The books were cushioned with paper to keep the covers from damage.   I have not started on these yet but I am excited to get started.

Expiration Day by William Campbell Powell ($15.02 on Amazon) is a story about the future  where humanity is declining and children are androids created by Oxted. Tania (the main character) is a human child and discovers that her friend might be one of the “tekoid” children. All “tekoid” children must return to Oxted at the age of the 18 and Tania seeks answers to why they are different from her. This story is told in diary format and is a coming of age story. I can’t wait to see how this plays out.

” What a funny old day! We  got a robot today. And it was my eleventh birthday. So I  thought I’d start to write a diary, because it was a weird day, and if you can’t even write a decent diary when you’ve got something to write about, what chance have you got when the days are dry and dreary?“

The River of No Return by Bee Ridgeway ($16) is a story about a man named Nick  from 1815, who some how ends up 200 years in the future. He is trying to get back to his time and find the answers to why he is in the future.  So this book has it all, Mystery, Romance, and History.  One of my favorite types of books. This is going to be started on tonight. I’ll let you know if he finds the answers he is looking for.

As reading is one of my favorite pastimes, I loved this box, and read it to the end!  Total retail for this box is $31.02, cost of the subscription $14.99 a month. Total savings: $16.03!!! I love savings!
