Here’s a picture of everything in this month’s box.

The front of the card tells you a little bit about each of the products in the box (and coupon codes for most).  20160419_104258

The back of the card features a workout — this month is “Body Sprint Workout.”  I didn’t love this box as much as some of the previous months, but there still a few very tasty things in this box.  Let’s dig in!20160419_104152

Health Warrior Chia Bar: Although the card pictured the Health Warrior Chia Bars, the goodie in my box was the Protein Bar variety.  I’ve had the regular Health Warrior Chia Bars, so I was happy to try the Protein Bar…and it was good.  A nice peanut butter chocolate flavor – not too “chalky” as some protein bars can be.  It also had a nice texture.  I’d definitely buy these for myself.

Wilde Meat Bars:  OK.  Let me just say, I like meat.  And I like bars.  And I wanted to like meat bars.  I mean, what a fantastic idea…lean protein in portable form.  A lot easier than toting around a chicken breast!  And the flavors of these two bars (thai basil and turkey cranberry) was very good.  Unfortunately, I really didn’t like the texture.  Part of it was that I wasn’t expecting it to be soft – I was thinking more like jerky.  This is more like meatloaf…which may not be bad if you were expecting it.  I tried the second bar knowing what to expect with the texture, but it still isn’t something that I would probably pick for myself.  The flavors are super good, though – if you like that kind of texture, I would try these out.

Betty Lou’s Smackers:  Oh.  So good.  The label tells you all you need to know – caramel and peanut nougat covered with chocolate.  It’s kind of like a Baby Ruth candy bar…but I think probably better, because the ingredients are better quality.  I enjoyed this a lot and would consider this a good treat to have on hand when I get candy bar cravings.20160419_104235

Betty Lou’s Nut Butter Balls:  Holey nut balls!  This was the best snack I’ve had in a long time.  It tastes just like those no-bake peanut butter honey cookies that my mom used to make when I was a kid.  But it is made with good ingredients and packs some serious protein.  I want to buy a box of these right now.  And eat them all.   Seriously, it was that good.  Yum!20160419_104119

Vintage Italia Pasta Chips – Garlic Olive Oil:   These were tasty.  One thing I liked about these is that they are flavored like traditional pasta dishes.  I tested out the garlic olive oil, but they have other flavors like alfredo and marinara.  That’s kind of a cool niche over other chips.  I’d definitely be up to trying the other flavors.20160419_104211

Purely Elizabeth Granola: (sorry about the blurry picture there)  This is a nice little cup of granola.  I like that it comes in a cup so you can just toss in some milk or yogurt & go.  I ate it plain, though, to get the taste of it.  This sample was pumpkin fig and had a very nice taste — not too sweet.  I also liked the texture mix with little puffs and granola combined together.  20160419_104224 FitAid Recovery Drink:  I am personally not a big fan of recovery drinks like this, but it seems to be made with good ingredients and supplements that are supposed to aid in recovery.  It’s lightly carbonated and not too sweet.

Chinook Seedery Sunflower Seeds:  These tasted so good – just the right amount of spicy!  Unfortunately, I was never a little boy playing baseball, so cracking sunflower seeds out of the hull is not a talent I have much practice with.  It took me forever!  But that’s OK, but I was really savoring the hatch green chile flavor.  These would make a great snack, especially if I could get better at getting the seeds out!

I really like the FitSnack boxes.  There are always a few products I totally love and I learn about new healthy lifestyle food products every month, which is a lot of fun for me.  Even the goodies that I don’t personally like would fit just fine into a healthy, athletic lifestyle – it’s just a matter of taste.  Get good snacks!  Yum!
