My mailer came with my fragrance and a card.  There’s a new “Scent Muse” too. They no longer pretend that the Scent Muse selects the Perfume for the next month.

scentbird march 2016 review

Scentbird’s Perfume Editors pick a new scent every month to feature. The January scent was Nest Fragrances’ Indigo, which I chose for my scent this month. April’s is Tuscan Fig by Lisa Hoffman. I had it in my queue already so I moved it up! It’s very similar to the scent I selected for this month (at least in the main note!).
The sexy yet sweet notes of Tuscan Fig, which include vanilla bean, honeysuckle, coconut wood and gardenia, evoke a flirty kind of sensuality. Spray directly onto your skin – or mist into the air, and walk through – to experience its seductive sweetness.
You can see all the previous Perfumes of the Month at the bottom of the Scent of the Month page. I use this when I need some inspiration!
Apparently you can now get on demand scents, but if you’re a subscriber it’s less expensive to get a new one each month and there’s something to be said about giving yourself time to enjoy your new fragrance for a while.

Your first month will include a little perfume vial case and velvet holder. Scentbird decants the perfume from the manufacturer’s bottle to a little glass vial that fits in the sprayer. The perfumes are 100% authentic and you’ll receive an 8ml sprayer. A card comes with the vial demonstrating its use. You just twist it to spray!

My current holder is purple!

The sprayer now comes in this neat cardboard tube (it was previously a box). I tend to store all my sprayers in mugs, so I’m not sure if I can reuse this tube for something interesting. If you have any ideas, let me know in the comments!

I selected Nest’s Indigo.

Moroccan tea, Kashmir wood, and black cardamom are enhanced with hints of wild fig and bergamot. These notes combine to create a captivating fragrance that transitions well from day to evening. Inspired by the works of 18th Century British artist Mrs. Mary Delany, Laura Slatkin collaborated with master perfumers to translate these works of art into luxurious fragrances that capture the essence of each of the botanicals that adorn the products’ striking packaging.

The scent is sweet and delicate without being overpowering. It’s quite feminine and is fruity and musky all at once – sweet and spice and everything nice. This is a real winner for me and I might just splurge on the whole bottle!

I feel you need to look at the bottle to get a sense of this perfume, although you probably only need to see it once, it would be lovely to have the full size, which I just might get because I also love the packaging. Scentbird calls this an “office, woody, unique” scent.

ScentBird also provides a quick visual guide to the perfumes – and that’s exactly why I chose it – a nice every day scent for winter. You can get even more details on the different vectors of the scent by mousing over each of the main areas.

I got Nest by Indigo in January when it was the scent of the month. SO happy I tried it. I am in love with it, it is absolutely perfect, and I will be buying the full version of it.
