This box was bursting at the seams!sugarless sensations december 2015 opening

The December theme was Holiday Traditions. A small card was also included letting me know that if anything was damaged, to let them know right away (there were 2 glass items in the box).

I rarely see a box packed so full!

The information card gave the details on each item, including how many carbs and sugar per serving.sugarless sensations december 2015 recipes

Everything in the box!sugarless sensations december 2015 chocolate

Chocoperfection Raspberry Dark Chocolate & Dark European Chocolate: These are very good, and I’m super happy to have a low-carb alternative to the chocolate mocking me in my desk. They’re sweetened with chicory root fiber and erythritol and I love the raspberry flavor.

It has a bit of a lighter truffle texture that I truly enjoyed. sugarless sensations december 2015 hot cocoa

Low Carb Hot Cocoa Mix – LC Foods: Just one net carb per serving and it’s not only low-carb, but high protein as well! It’s sweetened with inulin (chicory root), stevia, and monkfruit. I strongly recommend when you make a hot protein beverage or mix soup to add a little water and make into a paste, add the rest of the water, and then heat. This was great with some cinnamon sprinkled on top (also good for regulating blood sugar!).

sugarless sensations december 2015 turkey stick

Shelton’s Turkey Stick: Made from turkeys raised without antibiotics and zero grams sugar! Lots of cured meats have sugar so it was nice to get this and it really went with the theme, too.

sugarless sensations december 2015 melba

Carbolicious Low Carb Melba Toast: Just one carb per 4 slices. On their own they’re a tad bit cardboardy, but they’re great with toppings – like the included suggestion of topping them with (regular) cream cheese and the jam below. I approved of this box when I saw that recipe, because they weren’t mistakenly trying to get me to eat more carbs.sugarless sensations december 2015 IMG_3673

They’re made of flax, almonds, wheat gluten, eggs, water, yeast, oil, and salt. As always, I’ll eat them with cream cheese and whatever else I have open that’s good for plopping on.

sugarless sensations december 2015 santa stevia almonds

Russel Stover Sugar Free Marshamllow Santa: A sugar-free version of a classic favorite.

Sweetly Nuts Cinnamon Vanilla Roasted Almonds: These are so good! They’re roasted with cinnamon and vanilla and sprinkled with stevia in crystal form, and I just have to find more of them. The card notes that they are a locally owned product and they are coming soon – I hope Sugarless Sensations sells them in their shop.
sugarless sensations december 2015 walden farms

Walden Farms Caramel Dip

Walden Farms Cranberry Sauce & Fruit Spread

Walden Farms is a magical brand that creates sugar-free condiments out of gums, gels, and splenda. The caramel dip was sort of like toffee pudding, and the cranberry sauce was definitely the firmer sort. I usually don’t use these kinds of condiments straight up – but I will use them to cut sweeter items. (For example, I like mixing regular blueberry syrup with sugar free syrup). It’s really up to your own personal taste and health needs.

I was really excited when this showed up at my door, because although I’m not diabetic, my blood sugar gets funky and monitoring my sugar intake really improves the way I feel (I did have gestational diabetes three times). I thought this was a great box with a lot of interesting options and everything was tasty, fun, and well-themed. Sugar-free items are extremely difficult to find, especially when food manufacturers are still trying to add sugar to replace fat (no, stop no, really!). Anyone looking for some fun monthly treats that finds it difficult to enjoy snacks because of their dietary sugar restrictions would love this box – it really keeps it fun and interesting to add new foods that won’t disturb your blood sugar instead of eating the same meal and snack every single day (I have totally been there!).
