TeeBlox is a pretty neat monthly t-shirt subscription box for a very low price! Every month you’ll receive a 100% authentic licensed shirt, plus 2 items from the collectible categories of posters, comic books, stickers, and decals. You’ll choose a style when you sign up – games, movies & tv shows, beers & liquors, or “hot meex” (a mix of everything). Then you’ll choose your size – Small to 2XL – and check out for $9.99 monthly plus $2.50 shipping.
TeeBlox recently introduced new categories of licensed shirts they are offering on their subscription. We switched our subscription to the new Disney subscription – the shirts are in girls’ junior sizes. You can see the January Marvel shirt in Anna’s review!
And this is everything in our January TeeBlox!
Distressed Humble Minnie Mouse: This is a cute ivory shirt with Minnie being all coy. I love the banding on the sleeves and collar. This is still admittedly big for my daughter, but it will make the perfect night shirt. I am saving it for a Valentine’s Day surprise!
This subscription comes with a pin (we got the TeeBlox logo) and stickers.
There’s usually a comic or some other magazine – we received the very vintage Ex-Mutants #1
A lone scientist, the three-eyed Dr. Emmanuel Cugat, selects five mutants, one male and four females, to be genetically altered, resequencing their mutated DNA to restore them to humanity. Belushi, Erin, Angela, Vikki and Lorelei become perfect physical specimens. Dr. Cugat then sends them forth to inspire the shattered Earth. Many of the mutants have other ideas, particularly their nemesis, the monstrous Great Fred.
In the Malibu version of Ex-Mutants, there were three males (Dillon, Ackroyd and Bud) and three females (Shannon, Piper and Tanya). These six were mutants who were gathered by Professor Kildare, a robotic-looking cyborg and turned into humans. Ackroyd and Shannon were the playable characters in the Sega Genesis game.
Ours is the Malibu version – Hi Ackroyd! (How funny is that?!).
This comic was not suitable for my child, so if you’re subscribing for a fun t-shirt surprise for a kid, note that the comic and/or movie poster or whatever random swag is in the box may also be unsuitable. Ultimately I wasn’t bothered by it – I think the price is right for a great new licensed shirt each month. If this subscription was for a teen, it would certain evoke some giggling.
Back to the main event (the shirt), my daughter will be SO pleased! I’m very happy with it!
