20160116_151157I almost lost my candy today. I pulled up to my mailbox area and I sent my son to check the mail and low and behold a new shipment came in from the Candy Club. My son took off running and I had to chase him down. So needless to say my family is excited for this new batch.  The packaging was a bit different due to the type of candy sent this month. Inside the box was Sweet’s Nummy Cubbies Fruit snacks, Nassau Milk Chocolate Sponge, Gerrit J. Verburg Sour Blockheads and Primrose Peanut Butter Barrels.

Candy Club is a premium candy subscription box that sends 3+ pounds of nicely boxed candy to your door. You get 3 canisters of candy, a bonus treats find, and a liberal splash of something extra! A monthly box runs $34.99, but the price decreases quite a bit with a longer subscription.

Candy Club has a fun quiz to help personalize your box. Take the quiz when you sign up or go straight for just selecting your box. This is the Club Favorites box, a mix of classic sweets and fun sours.

First the Primrose Peanut Butter Barrels, these are definitely a hard candy. As we tried this candy, we all agreed the taste was very good but we felt it had more of a toffee taste. We do recommend you try this candy.

Next were the Sweet’s Nummy Cubbies Fruit Snacks. These brightly colored fruit snacks are delicious. One of my sons has already eaten half of them. According to the insert, these “beary” cute candies are chewier than regular gummi bears and we agree.  These are fine treat for the little ones.

On to the Gerrit J. Verburg Sour Blockheads. This is a family of diverse taste and sour is one of them. These actually have a sour outside and a sweet inside. They are chewy and delicious.

Now on to my favorite, the Nassau Milk Chocolate Sponge candy. OMG! These basically melt in your mouth. It is a puff candy made with caramelized molasses sugar covered in smooth milk chocolate. They remind me a little of Kit Kat bars but taste better.

You can pretty much buy all the candies in  bulk online, but it’s not nearly as fun, and the value is probably on par with higher end candy stores (Dylan’s Candy Bar sells “Paint Cans” of candy for $16 each!). This is a nice treat subscription or a even a great corporate gift for any candy lover.
