5 Wacky Women Subscription Box Review – January 2016

5 Wacky Women is a store full of personality in Maryland that is venturing into the subscription box world. You’ll receive 4-6 fun and functional items each month. Lifestyle, Beauty and Homegoods items may make their way into the box.  The subscription is perfect for that special woman that loves fun and surprises.

I am curious!

The theme is Winterize Your Skin! It’s perfect timing for me because January through March tends to be the roughest months on my skin.

The information card shows beauty items for January. I want to stress that this is not a beauty subscription box. Products will vary depending on the theme.

I love how they count! The information card lists five items and a complimentary bag of samples. The sample bag has a luggage tag attached to it.

The Farmhouse Fresh Melt Balm – Plum Chiffon ($12.50) comes in an attractive tin. The made-in-the-USA balm is a rich balm that is paraben-free, sulfate-free, and gluten-free. Shea, cocoa, and mango butter are ingredients making the balm comforting to the skin.

The plum scented balm rubs in easily. My left elbow feels softer after using it. It can be used on dry hands, knees, knuckles, and can be used on lips. The balm is perfect for the winter weather.

Mangiacotti Hand Sanitizer ($6) is a new to me brand. I am excited to see this because I am out of hand sanitizer! The alcohol-free spray has a light lavender scent created by lavender essential oils tempered by the tonka bean. It dries instantly, feels moisturizing, and kills 99.9% of germs. Just in time to keep cold and flu germs at bay.

Mangiacotti Mini Lip Repair ($5) What woman does not want choices? The lip repairs are made out of organic ingredients including sunflower oil, beeswax, and extra virgin olive oil. The scents I received are Pomegranate, Clementine, and Ginger Lime.

The lip balm goes on clear and smoothly. I can’t decide which scent smells the best! I will be using them a lot with the cold windy weather. Both Mangiacotti products are made in the USA.

The Spa Relaxus Coconut Oil Facial Mask ($2.50) softens the skin. Clean your skin, apply the mask and relax for 15 minutes. Don’t forget to rub in the excess treatment upon removal of the mask. Sadly I will be passing the mask to my sister because it should not be applied to oversensitive skin. I can’t use most masks so no complaints here.

The t.s. pink Bath Whip! Buttermilk & Honey ($12) and Loofa (appx $3) is a delightful surprise. I first thought it was bath salts based on its weight. It is five ounces of whipped bathing cream. The cream has a barely discernible scent.

Apply the bathing cream to the loofah, lather up, and rinse. It can also be used as a shaving cream to give you silky legs. The made in the USA cream has organic ingredients and oils in it including organic extra virgin olive oil, organic jojoba oil, organic almond oil and more. The bathing cream feels incredibly creamy. I wanted to rub it all over my body!

A bag of bonus samples are including along with a Scout luggage tag.

The Scout Luggage Tag – Jiminy Cricket ($6.48) The sturdy luggage tag measures by 2.75″ x 4.5″. My 16-year-old son claimed it for his suitcase. It matches well to it. I love how they sealed the sample bag with the luggage tag!

I was introduced to Inis by another subscription box and recognize the scent as soon as I opened the sample bag. The scent smells amazing to me. It’s hard to explain the scent – check out the notes here. I am happy to see both the perfume ($2) and the travel-size hand cream ($6.60).

The FHF Fluffy Bunny Shea Butter (25¢), Sweet Cream Body Milk Lotion (19¢),  Front Porch Punch Shea Butter (25¢), Pink Moon Shea Butter for Body (25¢), and Sweet Cream Body Milk ($1.88), and Whoopie Pie Cream Shea Butter (25¢) are fun unexpected surprises. The Farmhouse Fresh products are sulfate-free and paraben-free. The samples I received are also gluten-free and vegan-free. It’s a great way to try out the FHF product line. All mathematical errors belong to my husband!

In honor of the Five Wacky Women, I included a pictorial hint on which FHF sample I tried. Yummy!

5 Wacky Woman lives up to being a fun, surprise box. They did an excellent job in selecting the items for the Winterize Your Skin theme. The variety and unexpected inclusions such as the bath cream made it lots of fun to open and discover! I recognized a few favorites and discovered new brands. It’s a fabulous box for yourself or a friend!
