This box had the best Hello Fresh meal I’ve ever eaten!! Hello Fresh is a meal kit subscription box where you’ll get the recipes and ingredients to make 3 meals for two (or 4) every week. Take $40 off your first box with coupon code 7UT7K8. Hello Fresh is a subscription, but you can pause your deliveries and choose alternate meals (at least for the Classic box). There’s also a vegetarian box available. This is a solid meal subscription box with easy and accessible recipes.

Hello Fresh recently redesigned their menu cards, and the instructions are super easy to follow.  It has nice illustrations, is clearly written, and even lets you know nutrition info, prep time, and which recipes are best to make first to optimize freshness of perishables.  Hello Fresh sends all the sauces, bouillon and such in individual serving packets or in off-the-shelf brand name packaging; although it means a little more packaging, they survive shipping better than the plastic cups used by Plated.

Pan-Seared Chicken & Orecchiette Primavera with Parmesan Cream Sauce & Spring Veggies: This was ok. I didn’t particularly care for the technique – blanching the veggies, plunging them in an ice bath… and leaving them there.

It made this meal (though substantial, it’s piled high) taste like a frozen dinner.

Beef Gyozas with Spicy Soy-Glazed Green Beans: YES. Best ever! I posted this on Instagram while I was eating because it. was. so. good.

This was rated as a Level 3 (most difficult) recipe. My husband cooks them all (and usually reviews too!) and I doubt he had any problem making it, because he loves stuff like this. The ingredients were astonishingly simple for such a delicious meal (beef, wonton wrappers, ginger, scallion, chili flakes, soy sauce, garlic, green beans, sesame seeds). I saved this card because he will make it again!

Lemon-Roasted Tilapia with Provençale Sauté: Well, this was good and every time I look at the recipe card I am not sure I’d eaten it. This was an “eat me first” recipe because of the fish.

I eat usually 5-7 meal subscription meals per week and I don’t remember this one. Which is to say that it wasn’t memorable but it wasn’t bad either. I’m not a fish person but I’m sure I ordered this because it was lower carbs.

This weeks box had three very different and interesting flavor profiles.  To me, Hello Fresh is one of the easiest meal kit subscriptions out there. This is not a bad thing and it’s one of the reasons we enjoy it so much. Take $40 off your first box with coupon code 7UT7K8.

The primavera was my absolute favorite hellofresh meal so far!! But I didn’t ice bath the veggies I knew I didn’t like them that way so I cooked them until tender maybe that made a big difference! Glad to read your review about the beef gyozas I was a little unsure so I made a different selection but now I would be interested in trying them!

yes for sure. because we do review unless i can’t stand something my husband just generally follows the directions. the gyozas were just to die for. they do repeat recipes (usually with a variation) and you should definitely get them!
