Collectible Geek‘s Collector’s Cache is a monthly package built for the ultimate collector, geek, or enthusiast. Each Collector’s Cache comes with five meticulously chosen items such as t-shirts, Funko products, nerdy toys from the staff at collectibleGEEK, featuring a different theme each month.
The March Theme was 80s. I signed up back in January and finally got a box. I thought that was crazy long.
Shutter Shades, Rubix Cube Keychain, and Ghostbusters patch.
I have heard this happened to more than one person – it’s not high quality. I signed up for a 6 month subscription with the promise of no filler items. I was disappointed.
Greatest American Hero Magnet
Never Ending Story Necklace – This is really cheap metal. This one is much better! It’s a great idea but the execution was poor.
Slashfest Club Poster – Mashup of 80s horror icons. I generally dislike roll-up posters (which I have said elsewhere).
And the quality on this one is very poor and pixellated.
KRE-O Transformers Micro Changers
Ghostbusters Tee – I don’t recall if I had the option to choose mens or womens (I mix it up). I do wish the fabric had been softer on this one, but it’s a fun design.
I wasn’t crazy about the big thing in the center of the back.
Beetlejuice Funko Pop! – This subscription is supposed to feature a new Funko Pop and this was a great one for the 80s theme.
Save Ferris Mug – As you might remember, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off featured a campaign to “Save Ferris” from his pretend sickness. I loved this.
The Collectible Geek logo on the back of the mug didn’t bother me here!
I feel like I got pretty burned with a six month subscription! I found it hard to identify more than 3 meticulously chosen items in this box. The price per box on a 6 month subscription is $33.50, so I’d definitely expected more premium items in this box. I didn’t think it was any better than Loot Crate, which is over $10 less per month. It does have one huge benefit in that you can skip the month if you don’t care for the theme. I love the 80s theme but this was definitely not my fave 80s stuff, so that may have something to do with my disappointment, but I just didn’t feel that the items were premium enough.

Having seen the March CollectibIe Geek reviews, I think the Funko Pop-only cache is probably a better bet, in terms of item value, shipping cost justification, and of receiving stuff you’ll actually like. My single experience ordering a set of minis from CG last month was positive (I got a rare Game of Thrones collectible, woooo), but I haven’t delved into cache purchases yet. Let’s see what April brings…
I received the same items as Brandy. This was a one time purchase box for me. I agree with Brandy that some of the items felt like a filler. My rubix cube was in pieces too which was disappointing.i
oh sad. I had high hopes for this one. I wonder what a box for someone who didn’t signup for such a long subscription got and if it was really different. A couple of your items I would consider filler and like you said not of great quality. I also do not want a company logo on all the really usable items especially so large that is kindof crazy.
all the boxes are the same as far as i know. things like the cheapy jewelry, the magnets printed on that flexible magnet stuff, all those i consider filler items for sure. if they’re not filler – what is?! obviously i thought i’d love it if i bought 6 months.
glad to see you agree with my logo issues 🙂
