The January box looked excellent – fruity and boozy.
The theme for January is From Dusk till Dawn – a little bit of booze all around the clock! Happy January!
The card details all the items and their makers.
Sfoglini Bronx Brewery BxB Radiators ($8) This unique pasta uses spent grain from the beer making process. They suggest a hearty ragu. Can’t wait to try this – have never seen it before (though we love this pasta maker!).
Liber & Co Pineapple Gum Syrup ($8) This is the secret ingredient in Pisco Punch! I am saving this for my next girl’s night because it will make a fun concoction.
Oregon Growers and Shippers Strawberry Pinot Noir Fruit Spread ($6.50) Why yes, I’ll have a little pinot with my morning toast. This is a sustainably farmed produce product and is really unique!
Three Little Figs Jam Cabernet Cracked Pepper ($12.50) Cherry, plums, wine, and fresh cracked pepper. This is perfect with some cream cheese and crackers (I always keep cream cheese stocked for these sorts of things). The information card suggests a grilled cheese sandwich, also an excellent plan.
Stonewall Kitchen Sea Salt Down East Crackers ($6.50) These crackers are perfect for the jam! Everything from Stonewall Kitchen is really excellent.
The Art of Caramel Kentucky Bourbon Black Pepper ($6) My husband devoured this. It was softer than I expected (good in my book) and was flavored with Kentucky bourbon, cognac, black pepper, cocoa nib, and vanilla bean.
And tons of yummy recipes to try everything out. We typically make one or two of these and then experiment with the rest of the items.
I love how there were stickers on everything this month so I know where to go when I run out. The value of this box was around $48, which is right below the cost of the box, but shipping is free (and represents a good savings for artisanal food items).
