Spring is here but it’s still so cold! I can’t believe it snowed last week (and hailed!). I was super happy to see that my Stitch Fix stylist had looked up our awful weather!! Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. Your stylist will send you 5 pieces based on your profile for you to try on at home and hopefully fall in love with. There are no coupons for Stitch Fix but if you hit the jackpot and keep everything, you save 25% on your whole fix (read below for details).

Every box includes a set of styling cards with suggestions on how to wear the particular item. There’s usually a dressed up (right) and dressed down (left) version for each piece of clothing. I do wish these cards were accessible in your Stitch Fix profile.

Here’s how Stitch Fix works: fill out your style profile! This includes style, budget, what you’re looking for, and you can get as detailed as you want with the notes to your stylist. It really really does help to provide notes to what you’re seeking, and a Pinterest board if you have one! You will be charged a $20 styling fee and shipped five items to try on at home. If you keep anything your styling fee will be applied to your order, but if you don’t, you will pay the $20 fee. This is so worth it. If you keep everything you get a 25% discount, so it pays off to be specific. You will check out and get charged through your Stitch Fix account.

I was so excited when I saw that print! I’m a huge critter print/ditzy print fan. #suchamom

Woo! So springlicious! I liked the palette my stylist chose.

IMG_1621

Pixley Avah Dolman Sleeve Top ($58) I don’t know why, but I look really good in a dolman sleeve so I was really happy to see this shirt! I also really liked the fun zig zag pattern. This was a definite keeper for me!

Fun2Fun Murphy Button Front Top ($48) I loved loved the elephants on this lightweight and versatile top! I was happy to find it fit well, too! I probably would have preferred a more blousey or fun shirt than a  traditional dress shirt cut but I wasn’t prepared to say no to the elephants so they moved in with me!

Taylor Theodore V-Neck Dress ($138) My stylist noticed I’d pinned this on my board and it was even better in person. The fabric piecing was on point, the construction was great, and you can wear this one in so many different ways despite it being a pretty distinctive dress.

IMG_1627

Excellent matching. The pattern wasn’t 100%  lined up, but the dress was only $138.

IMG_1628

I loved that it was bra-friendly!

IMG_1629

And had pockets! This one was so cute and practical (can one call a dress practical? I just did!) that I had to keep it.

Next up – military style jacket.

Sanctuary Caden Cargo Jacket ($158) This one was a big miss for me. Of course I like the Sanctuary Brand, but I just didn’t think this was a $158 jacket! And also the sleeves were super long on me.  It’s super lightweight but (obviously) wrinkles easily. This one just wasn’t for me.

Lovapella Sevilla Funnel Neck French Terry Sweatshirt ($64)  I was totally delighted by this pick! French Terry is perfect for the rapidly changing weather where we live (I wear a winter coat in the morning and it’s 75 when I leave to go home!). It’s warm but breathable and the red nautical stripe is a really classic spring choice. The tunic silhouette is something that I love too, and the cowl! Yes, another keep for moi!

I really liked my May Stitch Fix!!!  I kept 4 out of 5 items (25% off my fix for keeping all 5 was not cheaper than keeping 4 – sometimes it is but in this case the cost of the one item I didn’t care for was so much more than the others the discount didn’t work in my favor!).  I thought my picks were seasonal and great for my weather and style in particular.

Wow it looks so indeed vintage but also comfy. I love my old shirts way more than my new ones which i have bought from super fan shirt website.

Taylor Theodore V-Neck Dress – LOVE THIS! I may need to pin this for my next fix. I received a couple of dresses in my May fix- http://www.livegrowwrite.com/may-stitch-fix-review/ Sadly, neither was quite right, but the rest was awesome! Thank you for sharing this awesome fix! – Ann
