Pley is a LEGO rental subscription service, like Netflix for Lego Sets! My son adores building so I thought I’d try it out. Most of the friends I have polled on this service are quite baffled – why would you want to do rent them, why wouldn’t you buy them, they’d be afraid they’d get mixed in. Those are all totally valid questions but I would class us in the likes Legos, not a maniac category, so we liked this subscription.
The items come in a self-sealing return envelope.
Inside a mesh bag.
All the pieces to the set, plus a card noting that the set is complete, and the instructions. The book was heavily worn, as were the teepee items (our first set was a Lone Ranger set), but the rest was in excellent condition.
Whoops, I already lost a piece.
I had a lot of fun building this set with my little guy, and the kids played with it for hours.
I took this one in the middle of the build.
My son also had fun building his own creations.
You can purchase the sets if you just have to have them – this Comanche Camp set is $23.99. I think it’s more fun to build it, play with it, and return it.
There are 3 different plans, and I chose the $9.99 plan. Shiping is free and I thought the set arrived quickly even though I don’t get expedited shipping as part of my plan. I’d want to subscribe for a few more months to see if we were interested in the $20 per month plan, but to be honest, we’re really busy, I’m not too interested in seeing how many sets I can get out of this plan. I would be more inclined to subscribe to bigger plans if I could have more than one set out a month, but I guess you could have a couple $10 plans if you wanted to try that out!
Visit Pley to subscribe or find out more. See more subscription boxes for kids and geek and gamer subscriptions in the directory!

I subscribed to this service at the highest/most expensive level. Shipping took longer than expected/promised. More importantly, I NEVER once received one of the large sets, even once I had removed all other sets from my queue. Put simply, this is false advertising.
That’s terrible! We enjoyed it the few times we got it (I believe you were commenting on our first review) but it wasn’t a forever subscription for us. We went to the Lego Store when we were at Disney World instead!
