There are 7 boxes in the series, one for each habit: Courage, Impact Awareness, Learner, Kinship, Creativity, Curiosity, and Empathy. You can also subscribe to a 3-month pre-paid plan for $32.99 a month, or pre-pay for the whole series (7 boxes) for $31.99 per box. If you have multiple kids, you can get the Family Monthly plan for 3 kids, which is $49.99 monthly.

This is the review of the first box from the Changemaker series.

Everything came in a sturdy blue box.

The materials were well packed.

This card explains what the subscription is about and lists the benefits that kids can gain from it.

There are even colorful items inside!

Everything in my box!

The first mission is entitled Save the Elephants!

The mission map lists the change-maker habits kids can learn from this subscription plus the corresponding actions.

There’s also a welcome message, plus a list of the activities this month.

When you unfold the map, it reveals a step-by-step guide for all the activities. For this month, the starting point is the Changemaker Habits booklet, then kids will explore the zine, do the mosaic art, draft a letter to Congress, get signatures, and reflect!

The first activity is making a gameboard token that will be placed on the mission map to track progress!

The box includes yellow-colored clay to make the token!

According to the guide, the token should be something that tells about my daughter as a person and as a leader.

Since she loves animals, she made a cute dog to represent her. She said dogs are loyal and brave!

At the back of the card, it features this month’s featured habit which is Empathy. There are also follow up questions to discuss with kids.

Now that my daughter has learned about this month’s featured habit, it’s time to read the zine!

The first pages discussed how serious is the issue regarding the elephants from around the world being slaughtered, and what the kids can do to help stop this problem.

Identifying the problem is the first step in solving it. This portion shows the areas where elephants live and how long they can stay alive. There are also photos of the African and Asian Elephants, which are both considered endangered.

It’s really informative and my daughter learned a lot from the zine!

The elephant’s tusks are the main reason why they are being killed by poachers. This is highly valuable and it’s illegal to sell or trade them.

This part of the zine discusses more about the ivory trade. Ivory, for instance, is used in making pianos.

It’s important to preserve and protect the habitat of every animal. This page tells kids how some countries defend the elephants and their home.

Elephants are such magnificent creatures. They have a lot of traits and behaviors that we can all learn from. Like people, they are full of love and emotion!

Here are some more fun facts about elephants. They are known to have superpower like traits such as super memory, super smell, super strength, and super hearing!

They also play an important role for other animals and even plants and trees. They are such amazing animals!

Change is really possible and we can still save them if we all work together and help each other. Protecting them costs a lot and it’s nice that the government have funds for these kind sof activities!

Nellie, an 11 year old kid who raised awareness in her school and raised money to support the elephants with the use of her greeting cards. She still works to support elephant conservation until now using her Facebook page and school visits.

There are some suggested activities for the kids after reading the booklet, including talking with a partner about what they’ve just learned and answering a questionnaire related to the topic.

Even kids can help the elephants’ battle for survival. Every kind of help matters, whether big or small!

The kids are tasked to create a mosaic of an elephant using beans in this activity. I’m sure the kids will have fun doing this!

After reading the zine, it’s now time to create a mosaic! The info card includes step-by-step instructions for this.

The box provided beans for this activity and they were packed in a beautiful drawstring bag.

Here are the beans in different colors and sizes!

My daughter also used a board, an elephant cut out, and a marker for this activity.

My daughter did the outline first, this will be her guide for her mosaic.

Using a tweezer, she carefully placed the beans one by one.

Her work turned out great! She also wrote a message using the blue marker. It says “help save the elephants”! She loves this!

The next activity is about writing and sending a letter to Congress to let them know that the kids are taking part in this battle!

The booklet has a brief overview of the government’s branches and their roles.

They even explained what the Congress is for and how they can help with the advocacy. Now, the first task is to find our representative! The booklet provided the link where kids can enter the zip code to search for the representative’s name, and there’s also space where they can write it down.

There are also instructions on how to properly put details on the envelope. They have to make sure that it reaches the desired person by providing accurate information.

Before writing a letter to Congress, kids can answer the provided questions on the booklet to serve as their reference.

My daughter answered everything carefully.

The booklet also provided a guide that my daughter can use in writing her letter. It includes the letter format and all the other important details needed when writing a formal letter.

Then, she typed her letter on the computer with her answers as the basis. This is a great way to ensure that kids won’t miss the important points!

Now that the letter is done, the next step is to make a balloon art inspired by elephants. This will be attached to the letter!

For this part of the activity, the box provided deflated balloons and paper cutouts in a pouch, a brown envelope, and a white card.

The balloon is green and they even included a pair of googly eyes.

My daughter successfully made an elephant balloon art using the materials provided! The heart-shaped cutouts actually served as the elephant’s ears.

My daughter pasted the letter she wrote inside the card. My heart melted when I read this, the booklet is really an eye-opener! (We put our full info on the real card.)

For the next step, my daughter just has to gather signatures to show how many people care for the elephants!

At the back, there’s a space where kids can list the things they need to do to gather signatures.

Lastly, after completing all the tasks, it’s now time for kids to reflect on everything they learned from this month’s mission!

The box even sent a habit tracker that kids can update using stickers.

My daughter’s first Rock By Rock box is great! They provided informative materials that taught my daughter the importance of life and caring for other living creatures. She also learned about empathy and other values that came along with it. She really enjoyed the art activities, as well as writing the letter, and I’m so proud of her work, and she is too! This is a great box for kids with big feelings about the world. It’s also a great activity subscription for kids, as it focuses on positive habits and values related to real-world topics. This helps build a better generation and a better future, one box at a time!
