My Texas Market is a new monthly subscription featuring small batch and artisan made goods, all from Texas! You can enjoy awesome artisan goodies from farmers’ markets and local Texas shops without even leaving your home!
I love the packaging for this box! The box itself came in a priority mail box and it fit perfectly, I don’t even know how they got it in there. It has great rustic appeal and country style!
Everything in the first box. I loved it!
And I loved the card too! The July theme is “Summer in the South” and featured items that would be “plus one” to all your summer events. FYI, this box donates 10% of its profits to the Houston Food Bank.
The information card had the details on each item, plus a “Shop Outside the Box” feature with 20% Off coupons for Bits and Bobs and Luxe Heavenly Bodies (the coupons are shown in the second photo above). This is a cute idea and perfect for this kind of regional box, when you’re specifically hunting for producers from a specific area.
Zax Snax in Lemonberry ($3.75) I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I loved this more than I loved Dang Chips, which is one of my favorite snacks. The lemon is subtle and enhances instead of overpowers. The coconut chips were mixed with nuts and dried berries. Some subscribers received Apple cinnamon and there are 4 flavors in total. I really want to try them all.
Lavande Farm Lavender Mosquito Spray ($10) “Lavender disturbs the mosquito’s nervous system, preventing it from landing, and provides you and your loved ones with roughly five hours of beautifully scented protection. You can also use this spray around the house to freshen linens, your dog, or in the AC vent to freshen the whole house. ” I grew up in Florida, HOW did I not know this? I am a mosquito magnet and all of those suckers go after me instead of other people. so I cannot wait to try this one out. Of course it smells great!
P.S. Paper Shoppe Confetti Card ($5) This is cute and funny, and I love that it comes with confetti. What a great idea! This is handmade by a stationery line based in Austin!
Manready Mercantile Hand Salve ($13) Made with jojoba oil with a bay laurel and mint fragrance.
MB Vintage Essentials Lip Balm ($2.75) Made with organic beeswax and coconut oil plus peppermint essential oils.
Although I see a lot of these kinds of products, I think they’re great for this box, because I can imagine that lips and hands might get pretty dry in Texas. These are always useful and both these items are soothing.
The Granilla Bar – Dark Chocolate Honey ($2.50) This is a paleo bar with coconut, nuts, seeds, and dried fruit! This is so chocolately that a small nibble really goes a long way. Loved this, it tastes like a dessert!
Larry’s Bag-of-Smoke BBQ wood chips ($5) Bonus item! The instructions for this one were emailed out. This is a cotton muslin bag filled with 100% natural aged Texas wood in either Texas Hickory, Mesquite, or Pecan. You just poke it and soak it and throw it on the grill. I think this is an awesome idea! We never end up using wood chips because they are messy, but these stay contained, and it says they’re reusable too.
This was a great box and it totally had the flavor of Texas and its modern artisans! The total value was $42, which I thought was excellent for a box of hand-made artisan goods and I was really impressed with the curation and quality of items.
