Macy’s Beauty Box is a monthly subscription that delivers five deluxe beauty samples, one bonus item, and a collectible cosmetics bag for $15 per month. Beauty Box subscribers also get an exclusive $5 beauty coupon that can be used online and in-store.

There’s no extra packaging in the box.

The pouch is so cute and useful too.

The theme this month is GLOW SPARKLE SHINE!

Each month comes with a Macy Beauty Box booklet.

There is a $10 off coupon at the back of the booklet. The coupon is valid in-store or online from 11/30/2018 until 2/1/19, but it excludes use for future beauty boxes. There’s free shipping on all Macy’s Beauty orders. Check out these categories sorted from low to high price: Bath & Body, Natural BeautyMakeup, Skincare, and Travel-size.

Hooray for another $10 off instead of $5!

We are given a promotional card to be able to enjoy the featured products.

The information booklet gives you a list of all the items included in the box.

This month’s pouch is sequined in rose gold color.

When you swipe on it, the sequins turn and change their color into white. It’s cool!

The inside of the pouch is lined to protect the items inside.

On the other side of the pouch is not sequined but still in metalic rose gold.

Everything in the December 2018 Macy’s Beauty Box!

Carolina Herrera Good Girl Légère Eau De Parfum ($3.40) This lovely, feminine scent has notes of jasmine which are enhanced and enriched by ylang ylang. There’s also tuberose, tonka bean, and sandalwood.

This 2018 version is lighter than the Good Girl Fragrance from 2016. It’s sweet and woody, and no notes of coffee. I like it!

MAC In Extreme Dimension Lash Mascara ($24 Full-Size) I’m a sucker for mascaras as they help make my lashes look fuller and longer.

This is an extremely small sample – so small that I think it affects the testability of this product. This wasn’t anything special for me. There’s not a lot of product in the sample (it’s so small that I might call it $1 worth because there’s no size on the package), and while it’s black, I didn’t see any volume gains over other similar and less expensive mascaras. I do think I noticed a bit more curl.

It comes with a large molded brush that helps add volume and curl to your lashes, and because of the lightweight formula, your lashes won’t clump or feel heavy. I love how my lashes extend and appear longer because of this mascara. But the handle is so small on this that you’re maneuvering all over the place.

Rituals The Ritual Of Sakura Sensational Foaming Shower Gel ($15) It’s a foaming shower gel with organic rice milk and cherry blossoms! The rice milk extract helps keep your skin soft and supple, while the cherry blossoms give this delicate foaming shower gel a soothing scent.

Smashbox Always On Metallic Matte Liquid Lip In Maneater ($24 Full-Size – $6) I also got a metallic matte liquid lipstick from Smashbox!!!! It’s well-pigmented and it lasts a superlong time on the lips without drying them. I love this bold metallic!

Here’s a swatch of the deep red liquid lipstick! (And please ignore the top swatch, I totally got mixed up on my swatches that day!)

Borghese Radiante Revitalize And Firm Mask ($14.71) This mask contains light-absorbing algae which helps provide a nice glow! It’s also hydrating and anti-aging.

As the label instructs, apply an even layer of this gel on your skin and leave it for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with warm water.

This mask can combat signs of aging, enhance moisture and elasticity of the skin, and bring out the natural glow to your skin. It feels luxurious when applied on the skin!

Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream ($13.20) Oooh Sunday Riley! Suitable for various skin types from normal to sensitive, it’s a brightening and refining treatment incorporated into a water cream for easy absorption.

The cream is soft and smooth. It’s ideal for treating dryness, dark spots, wrinkles, and even fine lines. What makes this cream extra special is that it combines tamarind extract as well as hyaluronic acid which are both effective in hydrating and maintaining your skin’s plumpness.

Macy’s Beauty Box for this month focuses on showing me how to make my skin glow for the holidays. The winter air does leave my skin rather dry, so I’m happy to get hydrating creams and a mask. I also got a mascara and a red lippie, which are essentials for holiday makeup! I do like the mascara but wish that sample size was heftier. As for the lippie, it will certainly catch everyone’s attention because of its deep red shade. And to complete the set, the sequined pouch is something I’d love to bring around to carry my makeup must-haves. The value of this month is harder to estimate because of the lack of sizes on the mascara and the lipstick, but going with around $55 seems about right. This is pretty awesome considering the coupon got bumped to $10 this month!
