Dia & Co. is a monthly personal styling subscription for plus-sized women. It’s like Stitch Fix, but for plus sizes. Fill out your profile and sizing information, pay a $20 styling fee (refundable against anything you choose to keep), and have 5 items selected by a stylist sent straight to your home to try on. Dia & Co. includes free shipping each way. If you keep all 5 items from your box, you’ll receive a 25% discount.
The invoice for Dia & Co. shows the price of each item plus my potential discount if I opt to keep all of the pieces.
The stylist’s note introduces you to your stylist, provides insight on the selections, and offers suggestions on how to style the garments.
These are the looks that I told my stylist I wear or like via my fashion profile. I made it a point to emphasize that although I work in an office, I spend a lot of my workday outdoors and live in Florida where it is VERY humid, so I need clothes that are climate-friendly and easy care.
Urban Expressions | Locket Clutch – Black ($39.00): I totally squealed when I unboxed this piece. The perforated floral pattern is so gorgeous and feminine on this vegan leather clutch. It features a zip closure and detachable chain strap. PLUS, there are a good number of pockets which is great for organizing, especially when space is limited. The bag measures 11.2″ L x1.0″ W x 6.9″ H.
Pennington’s | Paola Reversible Cami – Red/Black ($44.00): This is a flowy, reversible dual layer polyester cami. I like pieces that are multi-functional and this fits the bill. It can be dressed up or down and is great for layering. One side features a red and black cheetah print, and the reverse is solid black. I would have kept this, but it drove me crazy that a hint of red could be seen when I was wearing the black side of the top.
Robbie Bee | Detailed Hem Crochet Topper – Black ($35.00): This acrylic knit topper has a textured pattern and works with a variety of different looks. It has an open front and elbow set sleeves. I thought about keeping this, but then I remembered that I kept a similar Robbie Bee shrug from a previous Dia box.
London Times | Animal Swing Dress – Navy/Orange ($69.00): This swing dress is made with jersey construction (95% polyester / 5% spandex) and features a jewel neck and cap sleeves. The design is a navy and cream ikat pattern with tiger print panels on the bottom hem. I wasn’t sure what to make of this dress. It is SO out of my style zone, but the silhouette is one I like. In the end, the pattern overwhelmed me and the dress was sent back.
Jessica Simpson | “Kiss Me” Super Skinny Jean – Wright/Wright ($69.50): I am a fan of darker rinse jeans, so these caught my eye immediately. What I couldn’t get over was the fit. It was like a glove (with some shaping built in). These were so comfy; they’re a cotton/polyester/rayon/spandex blend. The jeans look like traditional 5-pocket styles, but the front pockets are faux.
Here’s pictures of my looks. Please ignore the mess that is my closet and the fact that I took mirror selfies. This has been a super busy month.
Not sure how to style this or why I thought navy tights were the answer. The models I saw simply wore this with nude heels.
Practicing my best hipster chic. This was actually how my stylist suggested I pull the items together for an outfit. All that’s missing is the clutch.
I totally missed out on savings by not keeping the entire box. I kept the clutch and jeans, which ended up being $108.50. The price for the entire box (remember, there’s a 25% discount with this) would have been… $172.38! Yes, I’m shaking my head too. I just didn’t want to keep pieces that I wasn’t going to wear. By the way, Dia & Co. does price match, so if you find something at a better price, let them know for additional savings.
Overall, my stylist did well. I do hope that Dia & Co. does a better job of tracking the pieces I keep to avoid duplicates in the future. My only real gripe is that Dia & Co. does not call pieces by their correct style names. If you noticed, the styles on the invoice are not the same as what I listed but the brands match. This makes it a little harder for me to search online for comparisons or styling tips.
