Comic Block is a monthly subscription box from the Nerd Block Family of geek crates! With this subscription you’ll receive comic books, a shirt, and other goodies each month.
The featured item!
Description Card is great for letting us know what we have received. It’s a great checklist to look at as you go through your Comic Block box.
This box is great – you can see that there is special care for the contents. Comic books are wrapped in plastic and/or bagged and boarded. The t-shirt was packed in the box well and kept everything from moving around. Also, there are more toys than before because the box has increased in size.
Marvel shoelaces. These are amazing! I like that there are both black & white and colored options.
Luke Cage T-Shirt. The man that broke Netflix (perhaps). The latest hero in the Netflix hero series makes for one of the coolest (if not the coolest) t-shirts from this subscription box. I didn’t see this t-shirt on shirtpunch.com but that’s where it came from and their shirts usually go for $19.99.
Doom Patrol #1 – DC Comics ($3.99). Gerard Way writes this comic book that is part of DC’s Young Animal series. I have been intrigued by the advertisements in the DC Rebirth issues and now I’m glad I get this first issue.
Supergirl #1 – DC Comics ($2.99). I am a huge fan of the DC Rebirth that is happening right now. Comic book series are starting from #1 and most feel like a beginning. Supergirl is definitely the case in this movement. As the reader, you get to see young Kara Danvers in high school, having difficulty in school because Earth’s science is so many years behind Krypton. This is a fun book and you can read my full review here.
Vikings: Uprising #1 – Titan Comics ($3.99). This has a Nerd Block exclusive cover and the comic is based on the popular television series.
Britannia #1 – Valiant Comics ($3.99). The world’s first detective is on the case! This story takes place in 65 A.D. and the book is written by Peter Milligan.
The World According to Wolverine ($24.95). This is a fun book filled with removable items and insights from the ol’ Canucklehead. Written by Matthew K. Manning and illustrated by Stephen Mooney.
Get up close and personal with the real Wolverine through this fun and immersive exploration of his hazardous world.
In The World According to Wolverine, Marvel Comics’ favorite stoic loner finally opens up on a range of topics that are close to his mutant heart. With helpful tips on everything from clawed combat to outdoor survival and dealing with the agony of adamantium implantation, this book will delight fans who want to learn how to be just like the headstrong hero. Also featuring Logan’s ruminations on an extremely long and checkered life, his global travels, and the art of picking the perfect partner, The World According to Wolverine will offer unparalleled insight into one of the most fascinating and mysterious characters in the Marvel Comics universe. The book will also come with a number of removable items, including a postcard from Madripoor, snapshots of Wolverine’s lost loves, a wanted poster for Dog Logan, an exclusive Wolverine poster, and much, much more.
Next month’s box has a Doctor Strange item (hopefully a t-shirt or some sort of apparel), and 3 exclusive comic variants!
Comic Block is nice enough to give a $10 credit for nerdblock.com. Sorry, I blocked out my number.
