I love discovering new candle brands and Vellabox helps me do that every month! For May 2026 they featured Vanilla & Spruce, which is based in Columbus, Ohio. Vellabox delivers a seasonally scented candle each month, tailored to the scent preferences you select at checkout. I received a candle that’s considered “fresh” and I think the company certainly hit the mark! Along with the candle, Vellabox always includes a fun bonus item! This review features The Vibe Box, which comes with a 16-ounce candle for $38 a month.

Vanilla & Spruce Ivory Linen Candle ($38) For May I received a scent that is considered fresh and I have to say it really is! It’s called Ivory Linen and it’s supposed to smell like something one might experience when doing the laundry – warm, clean sheets fresh out of the dryer. Some of the listed fragrance notes include petitgrain (which are the leaves and twigs of the bitter orange tree), cotton wood, and spring water. Now I drink spring water all day long and it doesn’t have a scent, but it’s more of the idea of an aquatic or ozone type of fragrance. Also, I have no idea what cotton wood smells like, but the candle smells like freshly washed laundry in a cabin located somewhere near a citrus grove. This candle size is supposed to burn for around 80 hours.
Vanilla & Spruce Ivory Linen Fragrance Roll-On ($22) The bonus item for May is a fragrance roll on that matches the scent of whichever candle you received! It’s made with sweet almond oil, hazelnut oil, grapeseed oil, and fragrance oil. It smells just like the candle: crisp, clean, and warm, and I find it to be nicely balanced and not overwhelming.
The candle scent that I received in the May Vellabox was absolutely perfect for the season! Ivory Linen from Vanilla & Spruce was fresh and clean, and just what I want to smell as the days turn hot and humid. I always burn my candles in the same place to see if the scent will reach my recliner and while this one didn’t make it that far, it did a really good job in its immediate vicinity. I certainly noticed it each time I walked by, and it was pleasant and not too strong. I was also quite happy with my new roll on fragrance, it sticks around for a while on my skin yet again, it’s not overwhelming. Don’t forget, each month you can find a link to the monthly playlist!
