Noteworthy Candle Co. Valentine Candle ($38) The scent I received has notes of strawberry, cream, and apricot nectar so it’s no surprise that the candle smelled fruity and sweet. The owner of Noteworthy Candle Co. has asthma and she wanted to create candles that are free from carcinogens and other toxins. The candle is made with soy wax and the 16 ounce size should burn for around 80 hours.
Valentine Body Oil from Vellabox ($12) The bonus item for February is a body oil in the same fragrance as the candle, so that means each of the three candles for the month has its own body oil! The base is a mix of sweet almond, grapeseed, hazelnut, olive, and jojoba oils plus vitamin e and fragrance oil. It didn’t leave my skin greasy but it did leave behind a hint of fruity scent.
As someone with asthma I was happy to try the Valentine Candle from Noteworthy Candle Co in my February Vellabox! While the candle smelled lovely when I opened the lid I really didn’t smell it at all while it was burning, and I burned it on three separate nights. Of course, if you have a sensitivity to strong scents then this may be the candle for you! Maybe it would have provided scent to a smaller area, but I just couldn’t detect it when burning in my living room. I enjoyed using the body oil, it provided a bit more fragrance when I put it on and I was thrilled that it didn’t feel greasy.
