The May 2024 Vegancuts Snack Box was themed Sustainable Snacks for Spring. I received 11 items and was excited to try some that looked new-to-me, plus I saw some that my family might enjoy too. Read on to see what I received!

NOTE: This May box didn’t arrive until the first week of June.

DEAL: Use the coupon code hellosub to get $5 off your first box on any Vegancuts subscription! It can only be used once per customer, but it can be used on multiple subscriptions at once so long as they are in the same transaction.

Proceeds from this box helps support animal sanctuaries. The back of this card lists the snacks inside the box.

I also received a card with a discount code on a future purchase.

Drizzilicious Cookies & Cream Bites ($6.73) I received a large bag of this treat, which has 5 servings in all. These are crunchy, light rice cakes that are supposed to taste like chocolate, although I don’t think that flavor was very strong, but there was a sweet candy drizzle over top. NOTE: The card said we would receive the Birthday Cake flavored version so I guess this was a substitute, and a large one at that.

Organic Cosmic Chews Sour Cherry Berry Compared to the previous snack, this one has hardly anything in it at all. They are carrot bites sweetened with fruit juice, but they really weren’t sour at all, and not super sweet either, which is good.

Drizzilicious Salted Caramel Bites ($0.62) This is the same type of snack as the chocolate version shown above, but without the chocolate and with a salted caramel drizzle. Seriously, they could drown the rice crackers in this topping and I would be in heaven.

Splitz Split Pea Crisps in Falafel ($4.40) My mom once made falafel and I wasn’t a fan, and I’ve since tried it at a restaurant and again, not liking the flavor. I tried these falafel-flavored pea crisps and I’ve decided falafel isn’t the taste I’m looking for. I guess it was ok, heavy on the cumin (of which I’m not a fan) but the texture was odd too, kind of like a dense version of the crispy noodles they serve at my local Chinese restaurant. They do have a base of split peas so they have an impressive amount of fiber for a snack.

Stellar Mini Pretzel Braids This sample was really small, and I didn’t see this size bag on the brand’s website, the minimum is 1.5 ounces so trust me when I say this is a teeny snack. I liked the “bold & herby” flavor, it made for a nice change from plain pretzels, and there was a touch of sweetness from monk fruit. But yeah, a small bag would be three times as big as this one.

Love, Corn Smoked BBQ ($1.15) is such a simple snack: non-GMO corn, seasoning, salt, and sunflower oil and it has a smoky BBQ flavor that I really enjoy. This item wasn’t listed on the card, and I didn’t receive Whoa Dough as advertised, so I think this was a substitution.

Nairn’s Breakfast Biscuits in Blueberry & Raspberry I must confess, I ate these as an afternoon snack because let’s face it, it’s a cookie. They have a base of oats, sugar, and oil and have bits of berries in them (and of course added flavor that makes them taste super fruity). These are crispy and delicious.

Gimme Grab & Go Roasted Seaweed Snacks in Sea Salt ($1) My daughter loves roasted seaweed, while I usually only eat it in a California roll, so I passed it along to her, and she was quite happy with this product.

Kize Vegan Almond Butter Chocolate Sea Salt ($2.50) I enjoy eating simple snacks, like this bar that has only 7 natural ingredients. It’s pleasantly chewy and full of salted chocolate almond flavor, which is great because there’s only a couple more ingredients than that (like agave syrup and pea protein). It makes for a filling and indulgent dessert or snack.

House of Macadamia Blueberry White Chocolate Snack Bar ($2.92) is a soft-baked nut bar that has a berry flavored white chocolate candy coating on the bottom. There’s a hint of berry flavor, chewy coconut, a couple of macadamia nuts, and a super sweet flavor thanks to erythritol, allulose, and stevia.

Bahari Teas The Iced Bloody Mary ($2.79) Out of the three possible sweetened iced teas that a subscriber might receive, I received the one that is flavored with tomato and basil. If you think that sounds like a weird combo, then you are correct. I chilled the tea first and gave it a good shake, which might not have been great because it fizzed up despite not having carbonation. The body of the tea itself was light and it tasted sweet but the lingering pizza/spaghetti flavor was weird, like pizza flavored chips or crackers. I’m not trying to yuk anyones yum but come on now, no one asked for this combo of flavors.

I am always excited to try the snacks and drinks in the latest Vegancuts Snack Box, even if some of them are repeats or some of them sound kinda weird. I think it’s pretty obvious that the Bloody Mary iced tea wasn’t something I would ever want again, it has such a weird combo of flavors. My favorite snacks were the salted caramel Drizzilicious rice cakes, they were perfect, and I found a new snack I would want again in the form of Kize’s mash up of almond butter, chocolate, and sea salt. The rest of the snacks were enjoyed completely – we all have different tastes and my daughter was thrilled to eat the snacks I wasn’t into, like the seaweed strips and carrot chews. The June box is supposed to have a picnic theme and I think that sounds perfect for summer!

Vegancuts Snack Box is a monthly vegan food subscription that delivers 10 or more organic and vegan treats each month. Snacks can include a pantry item or drink and most snacks are gluten-free. Each subscription box costs $24.95 monthly, or save a bit with a longer pre-paid term.
