    I’m confused about this. Why not just go to a local ceramics store for less?

      It’s possible some people don’t have those facilities close by or perhaps they aren’t able to go out for whatever reason (like those who are homebound or introverted). Since some of the kits come with enough for multiple people, it might work for a family or for small groups (neighborhood get togethers etc). It looks like they offer bigger kits for larger groups too. I’ve found that there is a kit out there for pretty much everything!
