Play! by Sephora is a monthly subscription box that brings only the best and exclusive Sephora beauty and makeup samples. The subscription costs $10 per month, and you’ll get 5 deluxe beauty products, playlists, a fragrance bonus item, plus coupons you can use when you visit in-store.

If I see the black and white stripes, Sephora box is here!

The items were neatly packed!

The fold-out poster has a really cute illustration of this month’s theme and a lot of helpful tips on skin care and makeup. Plus, a reminder that you can now use your Play! Pass online! That little card is a PLAY! Pass that will get you 50 extra Beauty Insider points with a purchase from the box, in-store or online. You can also get a complimentary mini makeover!

This month’s theme is Beauty BFFs!

The fold-out poster also shows a list of all the items included in this box.

Your subscription also entitles you to PLAY! Date meetups if your store participates. I don’t even have a Sephora (not even a JCP one) but this box totally excites me even without those experiences. I love the high-end brands every month for just $10.

The items are packed in a red transparent plastic.

Everything in my box ! See the spoilers for all the variations here. Your box could vary – it’s built off your profile!

Viktor & Rolf Magic Salty Flower ($2.32) This 1.2 mL perfume sample boasts of a fresh and floral scent composed of salt flower accord, frangipani flower, and cashmere notes.

It also has a hint of salt, reminiscent of a breezy day spent at the beach. This scent is perfect for the summer.

Bye Bye Under Eye Brightening Eye Cream ($16.03) Puffiness and dark circles are two of my greatest enemies, that’s why I’m always happy to try out new eye creams that will help me get rid of them. This one set the bar high because it’s lightweight, fast absorbing, and delivered immediate results.

It goes on smoothly and it works well with makeup. My under eyes also felt firmer after a few uses. No greasy residue or icky feeling either. Key ingredients include caffeine, cucumber, and blue algae.

Benefit Cosmetics BADgal Bang! Volumizing Mascara ($8.82) This mascara is amazing because it’s super volumizing but it doesn’t weigh down my lashes.

My lashes definitely looked longer and fuller after a few strokes. It’s also easy to apply because of its brush that reaches roots to tips of both upper and lower lashes. Another thing I like about it is that the effect stays on all day!

Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Restructuring Bond Repair Leave-In Heat Protection Spray ($6.47) Caviar extract is the main ingredient of this leave-in hair spray, which brings moisture, elasticity, and shine to your hair. It has a weightless formula that works whether for all hair types. The spray also helps prevent heat and styling damage, so no more breakage, split ends, and frizz!

Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Stepping Out ($5.63) I got the liquid lipstick in Stepping Out, a deep nude shade. I like the coverage and the color payoff, plus the fact that it stays on even after having a few snacks and drinks. It also contains a primer oil complex that keeps the lips hydrated.

Sol de Janeiro Coco Cabana Cream ($6.72) It’s an oil-in-water gel-cream that provides deep hydration, leaving your skin soft and smooth for a long time. It also comes with a sweet, buttery scent.

It’s from the same company as the popular Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, so the two often gets compared. This one seems to be lighter and creamier. Unfortunately I’ve tried it before and it has a weird popcorn smell.

The perfume sample is back this month, and the scent is something that matches my preferences so it made me really happy. I also got two skin loving items, an amazing hair care item, and a liquid lippie in a nude shade. I love the variety! Also, it has a value of about $46, which is way more than the monthly cost of the box!
