The GlobeIn Artisan Gift Box is a subscription that sends 4-5 handcrafted products from around the world. All items are produced either by collectives that are fair trade certified or that respect and adhere to fair trade principles. All artisans and farmers whose products are distributed by Globe In are paid a fair wage for their products.

Subscriptions cost $40 per month, but the price can go as low as $35 with a longer subscription. For those who would prefer to receive one handmade product each month, GlobeIn also operates the GlobeIn Club which costs $10 each month.

GlobeIn is committed to empowering artisans around the world. With each shipment, you’ll get to learn about the artisans and communities your purchase has helped to support.

DEAL: Save $10 on a 3-month subscription with coupon code WELCOME.

The theme for this box is Eco-To-Go. Artisan Box subscribers have a selection of themes from which to choose. This way, artisans will be able to meet GlobeIn’s needs while also having longer, steady work as they continue to produce items for the Artisan Box.

Along with all of the lovely items in the box, the Artisan Box includes a booklet that gives details about each of the artists responsible for the items in the box.

This box was all about staying green on the go!

Alaffia Fair Trade Coconut Lip Balm – Togo ($3) This is my kind of balm! Moisturizing and made simply with Certified Fair Trade coconut oil and cocoa butter, plus natural wax & natural coconut flavor. Now I want to try the pineapple version!

About the artisan: Alaffia was founded to alleviate poverty and empower communities in West Africa through the fair trade of shea butter and other indigenous resources. They also promote women’s health & gender equality in Togo, including the eradication of female genital mutilation. I absolutely love that GlobeIn highlighted their work on this in the booklet.

Matr Boomie Metallic Block Print Coin Purse – India ($10) This purse features a traditional block printing technique with a thoroughly modern style! I love the little gold tassel too!

Yay for a YKK zipper – nice and sturdy! The inside of the coin pouch is lined.

About the artisan: The Matr Boomie artisan collective in Barmer built a water recycling plant to make the traditionally water-intensive block printing process more sustainable. Read more here.

Prana Market Tote – India ($25) This durable and roomy tote is fair trade certified and made out of 100% organic cotton with a great topographical design on the front!  This tote is huge and will make an awesome beachbag! The bag is about 17″ x 16″ with a 25″ long handle.

About the artisan: Prana’s enterprise is completely fair trade certified, ensuring that workers have a safe work environment and higher earnings. Workers have a voice in the workplace, and women are treated equally. PLUS, 79% of their products are shipped without polybags (subscription box addicts know that too many manufacturers use them!) reducing landfill.

KeepCup To-Go Mug  – Portugal/USA/Australia ($25) This medium sized reusable coffee cup holds 12 ounces of liquid and it’s the perfect solution for filling up at your local coffee shop without creating additional waste with a tossable cup.

The sturdy tempered glass cup itself is recyclable if you ever break it and the lid is non-toxic BPA- and BPS free.

I don’t drink coffee but I have a keep cup that I use and love because I love sipping broth. However, I’m gifting this to a friend that stresses me out with her use of an uninsulated stainless steel reusable coffee cup!

About the green: The cork is sourced sustainably from the ancient Portuguese cork oak forests of Portugal and manufactured from the recycled waste material from the wine industry. Keep Cup says the cork is  biodegradable, antibacterial and is an incredible insulator with its superior thermal qualities!

GlobeIn Greeting Card ($3) This is a beautiful sentiment, and you can use this 4×6 flat card as a print, too!

There was also a card included in the box for Soko, which is a marketplace for innovative, ethical jewelry and accessories produced from sustainable materials in Nairobi, Kenya.

This was a really cool box from GlobeIn! I liked the focus on eco-friendly materials, and everything in the box was incredibly useful, but lovely and designed well too! The total retail value of the box is about $64 – and it’s really difficult for me to select any favorites, everything was wonderful!
