Walmart Beauty Box is a quarterly sample box – just $5 for the shipping and handling. If you want a sampling experience for items you can buy at Walmart, this is your box!

Remember that I’m over 35, so I get the Classic (aka “old lady box”) based on my profile. Some subscribers have been able to swap their profiles, but do know that you can actually add more than one box to your account, so if you want both, go ahead and sign up. Or just change your birthday to make yourself super young if you want the Trendsetter box.

Here are all the items in the Walmart Beauty Box this Winter. Do note that this box ships out over months and months, and items may vary. I get my box at the beginning of the shipping wave.

Dove Advanced Hair Series Shampoo ($0.15)

Dove Advanced Hair Series Conditioner ($0.18)

Dove Advanced Hair Series Mask ($0.44)

This kind of set is great for travel, but a dud for me, with my fine, limp hair. This “Quench Absolute” set is for coarse and curly hair.

Dove Go Fresh Nutrium Body Wash ($0.44) I was happy to see a totally different Dove product in my box! This mandarin and tiaré flower scented body wash is yummy!

Ponds Rejuveness Anti-Wrinkle Cream ($1.90) I’m happy to get an anti-wrinkle cream, but this formula smells powdery (I don’t care for scented products on my face). It uses an AHA to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Mascara ($6.25)

Well it’s sort of gimmicky but I admit I loved seeing the brush without any product on it!

I loved the brush because it didn’t require scraping. Unfortunately I wasn’t wowed by the formula – it doesn’t seem to have any fibers in it and I got basically no volume (but I did get well-separated and defined lashes). I would use this for a no-makeup look sort of mascara.

Curel HydraTherapy Wet Skin Moisturizer ($1.65) The Target & Walmart beauty boxes seem to love these wet skin moisturizers! I love ceramides for my skin, I think they really help to keep my dry skin moisturized.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Yogurt Lotion ($1.08) I want to eat this yummy-smelling lotion – it’s scented like vanilla and oats yogurt! It’s pretty thick and left my skin a bit tacky but I loved the way it scented my skin.

I didn’t personally care for the ingredients in several of the products and I think that Walmart needs to add methyl and ethyl paraben to its list of no-nos (which include propyl and butyl). The Pond’s, mascara, and Curel all contained parabens as preservatives. I have so many choices with my personal care products that I don’t think there’s a reason to use them.

The box included a $1.50 for root concealer, $4 off coupon on the Curel, and a scratch n sniff for the new Aveeno scent (mmm peach!).

This box had about a $12 value. I thought that was ok, but it could be a lot better – my $10 ipsy bags regularly have a $35+ value! Although the lowest value item in the box, I do wish the shampoo set would have been less hair-type specific – I’m passing it on to a friend!

Did you get the classic box or the trendsetter box? Check out the spoilers for the Trendsetter box too!

I’m with you on the hair stuff. If they’re going to send type-specific hair products, they should ask what type hair we have on the profiles. I also have baby fine straight hair, so these Dove samples will go into a donation box.

I get both subscriptions, and felt this wave of boxes was just “meh”…but in the past some have been real winners! I wish I would have received the mascara. Oh well…I know I can’t love them all…Thanks for the review!

How do you sign up for both boxes? I also get the “old lady” box but want to receive both. I can’t see how to do that on the web site.

In the “My Account” page I have an option to add another subscription.

My box didn’t come with the ponds, mascara or the hand creme. It came with like 4 lotions.. Not an ideal box for me lol. I would have loved the ponds and macara!

I LOVE that there is a curly/coarse-hair set in this box. Thats rare and us curly-haired girls often can’t use the limitless dry shampoos and products for fine, limp hair 🙁

I like to use the lashblast mascaras as primers for my other mascaras – its not that great on its own, but as a primer it really makes my other mascaras shine and it helps them last…. just an idea if you didn’t want to just throw it away
