How to Be a Redhead Subscription Box is the brainstorm of two sisters, Adrienne and Stephanie Vendetti. The box is to help redheads “to feel confident, look amazing and rock their beauty.” The products are tested for 10 days before being considered for the box. The products range from samples to full-size. It ships the first week of the month.
It’s all about the red! I am sensing a summer theme!
Adrienne + Stephanie wrote a letter explaining how redheads will be ready for the beach. I shunned the beach for years because I burn easily.
There wasn’t a whole lot of room for me to crop the information card. The information card lists the items, description, discounts, and prices.
How To Be A RedHead June 2016
The June Box is bursting with items. That is a lot of items for a box that is under $20.00 with items ranging from sample size to full-size.
The eSalon Perfect Ending Leave-In Conditioner (5 oz, $15.00) is a leave-in conditioner that helps control frizz and prevents tangles. It has a light floral scent. I still had a couple tangles but I blame that on my hair being thick and wavy. It’s color safe which makes it great for redheads by “choice.” eSalon offers a subscription box service. Check out our eSalon Reviews!
The Montagne Jeuness Creamy Coconut Mask (.5 oz, $1.99) is a hydrating mask that gives skin a boost. I appreciate the extra step that Montagne Jeuness goes in letting consumers know that questionable animal ingredients are indeed plant based. I hate it when I see glycerin listed without knowing if it is plant or animal based. The mask is vegetarian safe. I will be trying it out soon.
I have no clue where they are getting the prices listed on the information sheet. I can buy a one-ounce tube of Goddess Garden Facial Sunscreen for $4.99. The packet that we received is .2 ounces making it about a dollar. The SW Basics Mini Size Exfoliant is .7 ounces and sells around $10.00. The tiny packet I received is good for one or two uses and has no weight listed. I doubt it is worth $5.00.
Both brands are excellent natural brands. The Goddess Garden Facial Sunscreen scores a 1 on the EWG Scale. The SW Basics Exfoliant has only three ingredients – organic oat flour, organic almond flour, and sea salt.
I fell in love with Egyptian Magic Cream (.1 oz each) when I received it as a Birchbox sample. My older son loves it too. I can buy four ounces for $36.00 on Amazon. I have no clue why the card states the samples are worth $10.00. T is going to keep the samples because he is a big fan too. The stuff is awesome!
It”s about time that a subscription box sent out a brown mascara! The Just for Redheads GingerBrown Mascara ($10.99) is a warm, rich full-size brown mascara that looks great on redheads. It’s an excellent color for light lashes.
The Made in the USA Red Apple “Petal Pusher” Lipstick ($23.50) is a vegan. gluten-free lipstick. The color is the baby sister to a hot pink lipstick. The hue is a soft hot pink allowing the lipstick to work with lighter hair shades.
My sister took the picture of me wearing the Read Apple Petal Pusher Lipstick. The sun is reflecting off of my grays! I used the eSalon leave-in conditioner which left my hair mostly frizz-free. It was up in a ponytail earlier and is now messy from the wind.
It is the one time Amazon is not cheaper than the price on the information card. I did find the Sunburn Alert Wristband Pack ($6.00) at Walmart for $5.00 and on Amazon for $13.79. The band starts off white as shown in the above photo. Wear it with the writing up on your wrist. Apply sunscreen on it. It will turn a dark color. The color will lighten as the sunscreen protection wears off.
The wristband on the left has been on for about 15 minutes. The wristband on the right has been on for about 2 minutes. I kept telling my sister to hurry up with the photo to show the difference. I will bring this on our vacation for our 7-year-old to wear. It will help him be aware of his sunscreen needs. I do reapply the sunscreen every couple of hours because he is fair skinned.
Am I reading the Facebook page correctly? Congratulations on your weeding, Stephanie! I liked this box much better than the May Box mainly because it had a few of my favorite brands, the lipstick, and the wristband pack. The box is worth a little over $60.00 based on my calculations which is excellent for a box that costs $18.90. I am not sure what happened with the samples and prices. I did check their Facebook page and website to see if there was an update on it. The items are perfect for the theme. I will be using most of the items for my upcoming beach trip. The variety is there from the all important hair care (of course) to sun care. The box ships early in the month breaking up the wait for most boxes to ship. I am anticipating next month’s box.
