Here’s the October SeasonsBox . This box, due to new ownership, no longer matches the original description.

The Subscription: SeasonsBox The Description: SeasonsBox focuses on sending seasonally appropriate eco-conscious luxury and boutique items. All items are full-size. The boxes come beautifully packaged inside an outer cardboard box and are great to give as a gift just by itself. The Price: $35/month

Back of Info Card There were four items this month. Last month only had three. I was happy that SeasonsBox seems to be back on a reasonable shipping schedule. Dryad Tea – Fall Court 0.3 oz (sample size) ($2) I don’t drink tea, so I’ll be saving this for a gift. You can see reviews on Steepster. This smells very nice and if I can’t re-home it I will cook it on top of my stove to make my house smelly. Fall Court is a calming mix of black tea, pumpkin, vanilla and cinnamon. A perfect spiced tea for the fall season. Great with a dash of milk and sweetener. Molly Rose Pumpkin Cider Lip Balm ($3) Fresh, crisp apple cider with notes of sweet pumpkin and warm spices. Coconut oil, shea butter, vegetable wax, natural flavors, orange oxide, mica. Somerville Soap Works Cider Spice ($1) I was really happy to receive this in my SeasonsBox , as I lived in Somerville for years (and years and years). Inman Square to be precise, for all you Camberville residents. 100% pure olive oil castile soap. Always vegan, and free of palm, nut, corn or coconut oils! All products are made using only the highest grade, hand-selected ingredients, with no added dyes or perfumes. Detergent, paraben, sulfate and phthalate free! You can read the Somerville Soap Works Blog here Tea Forte – Luci Loose Tea Infuser Celery Green ($12) Stick your tea in it, and stick it in the drink. It makes tea.   The box also contained coupons for 20% off $20 order at Molly Rose and $1 off a $5 order at Somerville Soap. This box is valued at a whopping $18. 50% the price of the box. Good thing I got a half-off subscription. I would be embarrassed to send out this box. I was embarrassed to receive it.

Brandy… Have the boxes gotten any better? I was looking into this box. But I guess I was looking at the old company. It looked great until this review. This is the newest one I could find. How was Nov., Dec., and you last one?
    Thanks!

You can find all the reviews here: https://hellosubscription.com/subscription-box-reviews/seasonsbox/
Supposedly they are under new management (nothing said about new owners). They did charge me before my renewal date, but they did refund me with zero hassle. It’s actually not a bad deal at ALL on the yearly subscription, but I would hesitate to throw $250 at a company that I suspect will go under soon. (usually your credit card company can only go back 3 months) They never sent out the January box, though they say its coming. The boxes did improve substantially since the switchover but it’s not a box that I’ll be resubscribing to. One of my big issues besides the lack of communication and deletion of negative comments on their Facebook page is that charging monthly subscribers $40 for a box with $15 or whatever in it is appalling. But I really loved my December box, I thought it was nice. If they put out good boxes for the next couple months and gave me some confidence, I’d subscribe again! And all those $$$ lotions I use on my kids. I don’t think they are worth the retail price but they are nice and great for after bath – there’s nothing in them I wouldn’t use on the littles.

Glad you posted this! I was so disappointed to receive samples instead of the promised full size products. I also politely posted on Facebook my disappointment, which they deleted. I wrote their customer service to inquire if this was to be expected henceforth (as October was the last month if my prepaid 6-month subscription) and their response was a curt and unprofessional “can’t please everyone!” Part of me wants to write it off as a hiccup through transition, buuuut… $35 bucks for $18 worth or product is a steep markup!

I’m planning on asking for a refund on the balance of my yearly since it doesn’t end until June. I actually LOST the equivalent of $16.50 on this box since I paid full price!

That’s a long way from DC! Not an easy weekend trip, that’s for sure. My parents did the NYC suburb to East Brookfield for weekends before they retired…I thought that was far! lol

I agree with everyone that the products are good, even great, but the value is just not there. I also am finishing a year long subscription and don’t plan to renew unless things improve.

Brandy, I thought you might be in New England. I grew up in Framingham and lived on the ocean in Nahant until moving to Philadelphia several years ago. I so miss New England. On another personal note..my niece is rowing in the Head of the Charles tomorrow. I couldn’t be prouder!

I am in DC now and my husband works in VT (he’s the native New Englander). We are very much hoping that we can manage our careers to both land back in Boston but the economy is still very tough and I work in an extremely specialized field (which is why I don’t have a job right now!!). I lived in Cambridge/Boston/Somerville for about 10 years and 1 year in Woburn (where I had a house and then we left so I could take a public interest job in California). That’s awesome about your niece!!! Go her!

Long distance marriages are so tough. I admire you both for succeeding at it. Where in Vermont is your husband now and where did he grow up? My Uncle was from East Braintree, Vermont and raised his kids there…my cousins went to a one room shoolhouse for elementary! They then moved to Randolph. My parents retired to East Brookfield. I love Vermont. Good luck with your job search!

I should clarify that my issue is NOT with the products or brands in this box 🙂 the balm is great especially if you like autumn spiced kinda things!
