The November 2024 Vegancuts Beauty Box theme was Winter Pick Me Up and Protect and I received five products for the hair, lips, and teeth including toothpaste tablets, a bright lipstick, a multi-use solid oil, and more. Each month you can expect to receive vegan and cruelty-free products (and Vegancuts offers a snack box too)! See what I received in this month’s box below!
DEAL: Use the coupon code hellosub to get $5 off your first box on any Vegancuts subscription! It can only be used once per customer, but it can be used on multiple subscriptions at once so long as they are in the same transaction.
This Way Sunscreen for Your Tanned Lips SPF15 (about $22) I’ve received this brand in a previous box and I wasn’t a fan, but I tried this with an open mind. Unfortunately I think this just isn’t a brand I like or trust. This is supposed to be sunscreen for the lips but since it wasn’t made in the USA it doesn’t have the FDA warning label to ensure I’m getting the benefit stated. It also doesn’t have a best by date, and the scent/flavor, which is supposed to be minty, smells instead like it’s going rancid (also a problem with the previous item I received from this brand) or maybe it’s covering up something else. It has the texture of body lotion, which is odd on the lips, and it leaves a white cast thanks to the titanium dioxide and/or mica.
Batanaful Mini Batana Oil ($10.75) I’ve received this product before, and it’s made of 100% batana oil, which comes from a palm tree that grows in Honduras. It’s said to promote hair health and can be applied to the scalp or ends or even to a beard and then left on for a while to work its magic before being washed out. It can also be applied to dry skin although with its strong scent, which I think smells like coffee, it’s probably best applied to small irritations, dry cuticles, and stretch marks.
Better Biome Nobs Toothpaste Tablet ($15) If you are looking for a fluoride-free toothpaste then here’s one to try. It’s made with xylitol, peppermint, baking soda, and more and comes in a tablet that you have to chew to activate. Once you have it broken down go ahead and brush for the allotted time and then rinse. I was impressed with the flavor, it didn’t leave my mouth with a salty feeling like some natural toothpastes can. For the record I’m not anti-fluoride but I’ve been brushing with these tabs about once or twice a week to change it up. While xylitol is considered safe for humans it can be toxic to dogs so make sure your fur babies can’t get to it please!
Rising Phoenix Cosmetics Bill & Ted’s Microphone Lipstick in Joanna ($9.99) I’m old enough to remember watching the original Bill & Ted movie when it came out, but it’s been a while and I don’t remember who Joanna was, but she’s a 15th century princess according to Google. The container looks like a microphone but inside is a quick-drying, long-lasting lipstick. It’s a bright pinky red shade that you have to apply quickly because it sets almost instantly, then it becomes impossible to move. It did, however, transfer to my water glass, and when I ate some trail mix it transferred to my finger. I’ve worn it a couple of times, and once I tried toning it down by applying lip balm to help it break down a bit, but when I looked in a mirror a while later I had clown lips. So just apply it lightning fast and own it, it’s a bold look for sure.

Here’s the swatch of the lipstick in Joanna. The box says it’s made by Vampyre Cosmetics but that brand went out of business in August so it looks like Rising Phoenix now owns their products. The lipstick dries to a matte finish.
SOF Lavender Fields Triple Milled Soap ($1.99) This brand’s travel-sized bars of soap are often sent in this subscription box. It’s made with products derived from palm and coconut and while it has essential oils, it’s fragranced with synthetic parfum. It has that classic soapy lavender old-fashioned scent.

As usual there were a couple of hits and a miss in my November Vegancuts Beauty Box, but you can’t always please everyone. My favorite item was the Joanna lipstick in the crazy microphone holder, I can’t help but think I need to party on and be most excellent to others when I apply it. I also liked trying the NOBS toothpaste tabs, that was a novel way for me to clean my teeth. The batana oil is soothing to my skin and can be dabbed onto the ends of my hair for deep conditioning. The soap was fine but I wasn’t a fan of the sunscreen for lips. The value for this box was around $60.
