Ipsy Glam Bag This month’s Ipsy Glam Bag is dressed up and ready to party! The fabric is satiny with a salmon-pink body and vibrant red bow (the backside is all pink). The zipper is gold toned but check out the candy cane stripes that are on the inside! Sorry about my picture, but they are definitely white and red stripes. So cute!
Tatcha Indigo Overnight Repair ($25) Well, I thought the value for this sample was a mistake but nope, that’s how much it really costs! To be fair, it is packed to the top with a rich night cream. It’s supposed to calm redness and irritation overnight and it has indigo extract to do the work. Other ingredients in this jar include glycerin, ceramides, and hyaluronic acid. I was surprised to see dimethicone as the second ingredient, and there’s two other versions of it listed and while I expected my skin to feel like it had a primer on, it instead left my skin feeling soft and it looked a little shiny (thanks to mica). I was surprised to find that my forehead felt greasy in the morning, but with dry skin I’ll take that as a good sign. Dimethicone is supposed to help protect skin and reduce redness. I’m giving it bonus points for not having added fragrance.
Nip + Fab Vitamin C Fix Eye Cream ($5.32) Now this tube feels like it doesn’t have anything in it at all but it does! It’s another cream, thankfully fragrance-free, and meant for use under the eyes. It also has dimethicone, plus glycerin, shea butter, caffeine, and hyaluronic acid. The star is vitamin C, three different forms for better effectiveness, and it’s supposed to reduce dark circles, puffiness, and bags, or at least reduce the appearance of those issues. This product is supposed to be applied in the morning and it felt “invisible” once dry.
LYS Beauty Confident Precision Makeup Sponge ($10) I’ve been glamming my makeup look up a bit more than usual lately and so I appreciated receiving a wedge-shaped makeup sponge to help me get foundation and concealer into small spaces, or to apply contour in a precise line, or to clean up the edges of my eyes. It can be used dry or you can dampen it first, which is how I prefer to use sponges.
Pixi by Petra LipGlow in Ruby ($14) I was a little worried at first when I saw how bright this lip gloss was but the color barely registers once it’s on my lips, which means a mirror isn’t needed for application purposes. It’s a little waxy, and despite Pixi saying the color’s buildable it’s not, at least not on my lips. You click the bottom to advance the product, but it won’t go back down so don’t click too much! Finally, while it has a minty flavor once on the lips, there is another not so pleasant scent if you smell the applicator, so I think the smell is coming from the container. Swatched below.

Love+Craft+Beauty Gel Line Eye Pencil ($18) Hmm, concealer colored eyeliner? I supposed it may work for some looks but not for me I’m afraid. I don’t apply products in my waterline but I decided to try it out because I wasn’t sure how else to test this product but it looked like I had used blotchy concealer, and it did nothing to enhance my eyes. Swatched below.

Swatched on top is the Love+Craft+Beauty eyeliner in Stripped (yes, it looks like concealer!) and below that is the Pixi LipGlow in Ruby.

Ipsy urged us to Unwrap Joy in December and I must say, I’m feeling it! The bag was totally adorable, so cute but without being over the top. My favorite item this month was the Tatcha Indigo Overnight Repair cream, my skin did look pretty good when I got up the next morning! I’m always happy to try new eye creams, like Nip + Fab’s Vitamin C Fix Eye Cream, it went on so smoothly. I’m always happy to replace makeup sponges with new ones so thanks for the LYS Beauty sponge Ipsy, I like the pointy shape. I’m not a fan of the Love+Craft+Beauty flesh colored eye liner, and while the Pixi LipGlow container smells funky, the balm is good and adds the barest hint of color. The value for my December Glam Bag was around $72!
