Cat Kit by Pusheen Box is a themed subscription box designed just for cats! The theme for Fall 2024 was Mystical Meowgic and the items were decorated with Pusheen and symbols traditionally associated with Halloween such as brooms, pointy hats, crescent moons, and more! Please note that I didn’t receive this box until November 4th (my husband sent me pictures and had no idea what it was!) and I was on vacation when it came so sorry for the late review!
Pusheen’s Witch Hat I was surprised to find four mini toys inside this witch hat and I hoped that my cat would feel the same way. The toys are plush and crinkly and I bet that placing them in a jar or bag with catnip for a few hours would make them irresistible.
Pet Collar Zoey adored one of the collars we received in a previous box and she wore that thing until it wore out. She has been happily parading around in her new collar for the past couple of weeks and you would think she was a super model. The collar is adjustable and has a quick release clasp (although I’ve left it really loose so it would slip off with no problem). There’s a witchy Pusheen charm which hits the water dish every time Zoey visits it for water. I think the jingling sound makes Zoey even more proud for some reason!
Here’s Zoey modeling the collar! Zoey is turning 14 years old later this month so we consider her retired. She spends her days sleeping, eating, tolerating/mentoring Buddy the Dog, and just taking it easy. Her purr is just as loud as ever!
Treat Jar The treat jar is made of plastic and has a sturdy lid to hold goodies inside, either for the cat or for humans.
The purple Plush Kicker Cat Toy is shaped like a broom and is quite long. It has a pocket in the back for catnip.
Zoey doesn’t play much nowadays but here she is with her new snuggly.
I think feathers on a stick are one of Zoey’s favorite toys, and this Teaser Wand Cat Toy has the bonus of a moon and bat plush danglers, plus the feather is attached to a crinkly plush that has Pusheen sitting on her broom!
The Crinkle Plush Toy has Pusheen once again, and this time she’s stirring up a cauldron of something not-too-wicked I’m sure. The design is featured on both sides.
I think Zoey is at the point where she just wants to relax but I know she would have loved the toys in the Mystical Meowgic box from Pusheen Cat Kit back in her rowdier days! The collar was a big hit, I’ve never known a cat that actually likes to wear collars. The toys are well made and the designs are cute. The treat jar isn’t something that I would have out in my house but I sub in a wonderfully wacky classroom and I have the feeling they wouldn’t mind having this jar to hold individually wrapped candies for the humans. I want to mention that while my cat doesn’t care much about whatever designs are on her toys, the people who buy this box for their furry friends might, and a box with such a focus on Halloween should arrive no later than the beginning of October (and all it says in their FAQ’s is that it will ship in October). I know there were plenty of comments on social media from subscribers who wanted to know where their box was, so I know that the late arrival (November 4th!) wasn’t limited to my box. As for the Winter box, it arrived exactly one month later, December 4th!
One other thing to note is that the box itself has a perforated lid so you can punch out the design, close the lid back up, and let your kitty play with the most wonderful cat invention ever!
