The latest BoxyCharm by Ipsy is here! The theme was Glow Off this Winter and I received 5 products to help me turn up the shine this season, including a retro-themed eyeshadow palette, a highlighter in a lovely shade of champagne, and more – see all of my items below! Please keep in mind that BoxyCharm by Ipsy sends out lots of different box combos so my products may vary from yours. Plus, subscribers get to choose three of their five items (the other two are chosen by Ipsy). My box was chosen for me so it doesn’t always match my beauty needs and preferences but subscribers have more control over their box!

Murad Essential-C Cleanser ($44) Murad seems to be a popular brand in boxes. This gel cleanser smells like citrus (thanks to both essential oils and added perfume) and has a light milky foam once water is added. It removed my face makeup (I didn’t use it near my eyes) and was easy to rinse off. It has vitamins A, C, and E to nourish, condition, and protect skin and can be used twice a day. It’s supposed to work for a variety of skin types but left my skin drier than usual.

CintaLondon Aqua Forte Super-Hold Setting Spray ($28) Apparently Cinta London is a makeup artist but I couldn’t find this product on her website. Ipsy says to spray it on before or after applying makeup to set it in place. I personally don’t like this type of product and find that setting sprays (and their cousin, primer) don’t affect my finished look. I still tried it out by spraying it onto my forehead after applying my makeup and it came out in a fine mist. I’m not excited to see drying alcohol as the second ingredient and the product smelled like coconut thanks to added fragrance.

Iconic London Lit & Luminous Baked Highlighter in Universal ($29) I applied this shimmery champagne highlighter on my nose, cheeks, the usual places and was super impressed with the results, which looked glowy but not glittery. I also placed a bit on my lower lip for pouty lips, and it looked great there too. I don’t have a whole lot to say about this, it looks great and applies like a dream! Swatched below.

Eleman Beauty Liquid Eye Liner ($12.60) I must state that I’m not a fan of liquid liners, and this version didn’t change my mind. The applicator was different, it looked like a fancy tipped pen (sorry about the poor picture) but that didn’t make it easy to apply. I tried and it immediately flooded into my water line and the parts I actually got on the lid transferred to my crease as soon as I blinked. Pencils are my jam and I like what I like, what else can I say? Swatched below.

Violet Voss Disco Drip Eye Shadow Palette ($43) Disco Drip has nine shimmers and only one matte shade, but if you rock a ’70’s vibe, then here’s your palette. Some of the colors are too glittery for my taste, and I ended up with shimmery fall out, even though I didn’t apply foundation until after I finished my eyes, it just kept falling off, apparently thanks to blinking. Still, I managed to make a wearable look with only Funky Fusion and Gatekeep (although I had to apply other matte shades from my collection). Swatched below.

Swatched on top is the Iconic London Lit & Luminous highlighter, followed by the Eleman Beauty eyeliner, and six of the ten shades from the Violet Voss Disco Drip eye shadow palette.

It’s time to start celebrating the holiday season, and BoxyCharm provided the glow with their latest box! There were some hits and misses here (and of course the products are not chosen with my profile in mind) but my only complaint is that I have beauty items I use, and those that I don’t, but those items (the Eleman gel eyeliner and the Cinta London setting spray) will be gifted (my daughters love gel eyeliners and my coworkers are thrilled when I bring a “grab bag” to work, someone will adopt the spray). The Murad cleanser removed all of the gunk from my face at the end of the day. The Disco Drip palette had some pretty shades, but the area under my eyes also got the glitter ball effect. The champagne highlighter from Iconic London was my favorite item this month, leaving me with a lovely glow in a flattering shade. The value for my items might be off a bit since we are into Black Friday territory now but it looks like it’s around $157!
