The September 2024 Vegancuts Beauty Box theme was Last Hurraw of Summer and I received four products (and a bonus item, which wasn’t listed) that included a minty eye serum, a soothing serum roll-on for the face, and more. Each month you can expect to receive vegan and cruelty-free products (and Vegancuts offers a snack box too)! See what I received in this month’s box below!

Please note that this subscription arrived late in the month.

DEAL: Use the coupon code hellosub to get $5 off your first box on any Vegancuts subscription! It can only be used once per customer, but it can be used on multiple subscriptions at once so long as they are in the same transaction.

Chasin’ Rabbits Freeze Tag Ice Roller ($21) I’m giving this product extra points for coming with a steel rollerball that provides a cool feeling when applying the product found within. It’s a serum that has menthol, rooibos, caffeine, and hyaluronic acid and it’s supposed to depuff, hydrate, and firm the skin of the face and neck. In the morning, after cleansing, give the tube a gentle squeeze and then roll it over the face and neck, avoiding the eyes. Gently pat the remainder in and then follow with your favorite moisturizer. There’s no added fragrance but it has a light menthol scent, nothing to assault the senses.

Dirty Lamb Mint Mocha Eye Serum ($49.99) Here’s another minty rollerball, although this one is in glass and has the added scent of coffee. Inside the bottle is sweet almond oil, sunflower seed oil, argan oil, peppermint oil, and coffee bean oil. You roll it on twice a day and it’s supposed to reduce puffiness, improve wrinkles, and reduce under-eye darkness. I think the bottle and roller are too big, a smaller one would better reach the area under the eyes, plus the shelf life is probably one year at the max – this is a huge bottle of oil considering where it’s being used but the product itself feels good and smells lovely.

Everyday for Future Cococuddle Moisturizing Lipstick in Red Velvet ($14) The idea behind this lipstick is that it’s supposed to double as lip care, and it includes ingredients like coconut, argan, and castor oils. The info card didn’t mention shades but I received Red Velvet, a “classic red for a bold statement” but which seems to lean a bit warm/orange at the edges of my lips, more like brick red. I tried applying it straight out of the tube, and this shade isn’t for me. I tried using a little bit and mixing it with gloss for a lighter, wearable shade but it doesn’t play well with others. I don’t care for the added fragrance, it reminds me of kid’s makeup, or maybe perfume, but it’s not all that appealing. The lipstick is described as demi-matte and it leaves my lips feeling dry. Swatched below.

Medusa Makeup Penny Wise Eye Dust ($9) I received this box after autumn started and I must say, this is a lovely eyeshadow shade for this time of year! Penny Wise has a metallic shimmery finish and just a bit is needed to really make eyes pop. It is suggested that you use an eye primer to really get it to stick but I applied it with a damp brush and it went where I wanted it to and then stayed in place all day long. You can buy a product from Medusa’s Makeup called Eyeliner Seal to turn it into a unique shade of eyeliner. This product can be applied to the face (maybe as a highlighter or blush) but I mixed it with a bit of balm and turned it into lipstick! A little of the dust goes a long way no matter how you use it so this container should last for ages. Swatched below.

Here are the swatches! On top is the Cococuddle Lipstick in Red Velvet and below that is Medusa’s Makeup Penny Wise Eye Dust.

Equalrxn Oat Milk PHA Serum ($28) I didn’t see this item listed on the card so I’ll call it a bonus item and mention that subscribers may receive a different item. This product is supposed to repair the skin’s barrier and boost skin’s glow with ingredients that include glycerin, lactobionic acid, oat extract, shea butter, and more. It’s supposed to be gentle and is meant especially for those with sensitive skin. Apply twice a day after cleansing and use a gentle tapping motion to apply to the face and neck. After it dries you can apply your usual moisturizer. There was no scent that I could detect but my skin felt somewhat tacky after applying, although it also made my skin look “glassy” but that goes away if you cover it up with makeup.

The September Vegancuts beauty Box delivered products to help me ease into autumn, always a fun time of year for me. I have been using the Dirty Lamb eye serum night and day and I enjoy the scent and the feel of it, I just tap it in lightly after rolling it on. The Freeze Tag Ice Roller from Chasin’ Rabbits felt very soothing on my skin, the metal roller is definitely a nice touch. While the shade and formula of Everyday for Future’s lipstick wasn’t my thing, I was impressed with Medusa’s Makeup Eye Dust in Penny Wise, it’s perfect for fall makeup looks. Finally, I thought the bonus item from EqualRXN was gentle to my skin and I am always thrilled when skincare is fragrance-free. The value for this box, not including the bonus item, was around $94!
