The Ipsy Glam Bag theme for September 2024 was Enter Your Soft Era! I received a bag and five beauty products including an eyeshadow palette, a mascara from one of my favorite brands, and more. Read on to see all of my beauty items!

Note: Ipsy sends many variations, so the bag I’m reviewing may not match everyone else’s. Also, my bag is sent for review, while subscribers get to choose an item for their bag and have their products curated to their beauty quiz!

Ipsy Glam Bag The Glam Bag for September was designed by a Latina artist since September is Hispanic Heritage Month. It has a woman sending energy into the universe and the bag itself is pale, creamy pink vinyl. The inside is lined with a slightly darker pink shade of polyester material and the zipper pull is periwinkle.

Nip + Fab Purify Salycilic Fix Clay Mask ($2.82 value) I’m past the point of having oily skin and clogged pores, but if that sounds like you then here’s a mask with salicylic acid to help clear pores and exfoliate skin, and there’s clay to absorb excess oil. The instructions say to apply at nighttime only and reminds us to apply sunscreen the following day because salicylic acid makes skin even more sensitive to the sun’s rays. I gave it a try on my forehead. The mask was pale peach in color and I almost couldn’t see it after it dried. There’s parfum added, which gives this mask a floral scent and the mask was pretty easy to rinse off in the shower, although the brand recommends applying the mask after a shower since pores are likely to be open after hitting the steam.

Innisfree Cherry Blossom Glow Jelly Cream ($7.80) is a gel cream that’s supposed to brighten skin and leave behind a dewy glow, like your skin is made of glass. Some of the ingredients include glycerin, niacinamide, and cherry blossom extract. It also has parfum added which gives it a light, fruity floral scent. Ipsy suggests applying a quarter-sized dollop to skin, and that seems excessive to me, but that’s what it will take if you want your skin to look glassy, because then it sort of sits on your skin and reflects light. If you use a smaller amount then your skin will absorb it and look the same as always. You can apply it twice a day like a moisturizer, but I need a creamy product, and this one also left behind a sticky feeling.

Shades by Shan The Setting Spray ($7) Two products that do nothing for my skin are primers and setting sprays, although I am going to keep this around to apply loose powder eye shadow. It’s supposed to set makeup for up to 12 hours and has a few ingredients that tend to help skin: glycerin, niacinamide, panthenol, and hyaluronic acid. It’s free of alcohol and perfume, which is also good for skin because those two ingredients can cause irritation. Make sure to hold the spray away from your face and close your eyes, as the spray was rather wet and forceful, but it evaporated quickly.

Benefit Cosmetics Fan Fest Mascara Mini ($10.24 value) Benefit mascaras seem to work the best for my lashes, no matter which name it has (Roller Lash, They’re Real, etc.). I saw a visible difference with just one coat, with no smearing or flakes, and it stayed in place all day long. That’s it, that’s all I have to say. It works for me, maybe it will work for you too.

PinkLipps Mauve Me Mini Eyeshadow Palette ($16 listed value) I couldn’t find this product on the brand’s website, so all the info I have is from Ipsy’s website. The brand was sold to Target last year and they don’t carry this either, maybe you can buy it at Ipsy? Anyways, this is a mini palette of five warm shades: two are shimmers, and three are matte, but none of them are mauve. The shades are warmer than what you will see at the Ipsy link, those shades look like shades of purple. The shades (swatched below) are taupe, coppery pink, purpley brown, beige, and golden maroon. I used four out of five of the shades (I don’t wear dark red shades) and they were decent. I made sure to tap my shadow brush on the side of the sink to knock off the fallout before it could land under my eyes. The dark matte shades could have blended better. The coppery pink looked fabulous, it was such a pretty shimmery shade. I was quite pleased with my eye look afterwards.

Here are the swatches from the PinkLipps Mauve Me palette. The shimmery copper shade is the second one from the top.

My September Ipsy Glam Bag products featured two makeup items, a makeup setting spray, a gel moisturizer, and a clay mask. My favorite item was the Benefit Fan Fest mascara, Benefit knows what they’re doing when it comes to mascaras. I also liked the PinkLipps eyeshadow palette, especially the pretty shade that made my eyes pop. I will use the Shades by Shan setting spray to apply eyeshadows, I usually spray the brush, dip into loose powder, tap, and then apply. The Nip + Fab clay mask and Innisfree gel moisturizer aren’t good matches for my skin type and its needs, but I know others who will be happy to take on their care and keeping. My bag had a value of around $43.86.
