Cat Kit by Pusheen Box is a themed subscription box designed just for cats! The theme for Summer 2024 was Freshly Picked and the items were decorated with fruits, like oranges, kiwis, and cherries! Orange Plush This is a huge plush orange that is larger than an actual orange. It has crinkly material inside and should be fun to bat around.
I went ahead and sprinkled everything with catnip since my 13-year old cat, Zoey, goes absolutely crazy for the stuff!
Feathered Squeaky Strawberry Toy Despite being called a squeaky toy, this toy didn’t make any sound at all, no matter which way I tried to squeeze it. It’s the size of a tangerine and has a feather sticking out of the top.
Pet Bowl The melamine pet bowl has an inner metal bowl that can be removed for cleaning. It can hold food or water if you prefer. Pusheen’s sweet face can be seen from the side!
2-pk Spring Toys I let Zoey play with this toy for picture purposes in an enclosed room, then threw them away immediately. They have a plastic spring inside with a tiny removable end cap to keep the ends from being sharp, but if you have dogs then this is a choking hazard, and I’d rather be safe then spend my money at the emergency vet because my 9-month old puppy would eat these for sure.
Zoey surprised me by using the bunny kick move on one of the spring toys. She finally stopped long enough to pose for a picture.
The Litter Mat is mostly self explanatory. You place it near the litter box and then as your cat leaves the box, loose litter should drop through the holes and into the mat, then you can shake it off outside every once in a while. Our cat has a top entry litter box and since this isn’t large enough to fit under the box, and since there’s at least three different ways she can exit her box, I will pass it along to another cat-loving friend. Also it was rolled up so it might take some time to get it to lie flat.
How cute is this Cat Bed? Look at all of those bright fruits all over the outside! It has a removable pad inside that can be cleaned. I lured Zoey inside with catnip and she seemed to like it, and it’s softer than her plain cardboard shipping box that she prefers, so I’ve placed it next to the box to see which one she will choose more often. If I were the kind to place bets I would place my money on the cardboard box, because cats.
It didn’t take long for Zoey to figure out that the inside of this tent bed was comfy! She curled up for a little while before vacating it for the day. I haven’t observed her going back inside, but then she spends most of her time curled up on my daughter’s bed while she’s away at college.
What an adorable summer fruit themed Cat Kit by Pusheen Box! Zoey seemed happy to play with her toys, checked out the bed, and has been eating her kibble from the food dish. As always, Pusheen was on each item and I found the items to be helpful from a human’s point of view. It helps when both my cat and I find the items useful while also being adorable, it’s the perfect mix! I felt bad that I had to throw the springs away, since Zoey enjoyed playing with them, but I also have to worry about Buddy The Golden Retriever puppy, who thinks Zoey is his sister and wants to do everything she does — he even sits on the back of the couch after he saw her do it first!
I want to let you know that the box has a perforated top that you can punch out and then you can place some toys inside for your cat to bat around. You can see the perforations in the picture below.
