The July 2024 Vegancuts Snack Box was themed Plant Powered Backyard BBQ. I received 11 items and was excited to try some that looked new-to-me, including BBQ mushroom jerky and mango ginger chews. Read on to see what I received!

DEAL: Use the coupon code hellosub to get $5 off your first box on any Vegancuts subscription! It can only be used once per customer, but it can be used on multiple subscriptions at once so long as they are in the same transaction.

Proceeds from this box helps support animal sanctuaries. The back of this card lists the snacks inside the box. I am missing the either/or items listed at #7 & #8, but there were three unlisted items in my box as replacements or substitutions.

Goldmine Supershroom Immune Support ($2.50) I love a pretty package and this packet is so colorful yet calming. Inside it houses an immune-boosting powdered combo of three different mushrooms, the herb astragalus, the fruit lucuma, and ginger. It’s supposed to be anti-inflammatory and rich in antioxidants to help strengthen the immune system (but of course these statements have not been evaluated by the FDA). Just mix into your smoothie, juice, tea, coffee, or cocoa.

Pop ‘Em or Top ‘Em Snack Yums Cinnamon Churro ($1.25) I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: These Churro Bites really taste like Snickerdoodles. I happen to like Snickerdoodles and I like these too. They’re small cookies that would almost double as cereal but it’s suggested that you could add them to a yogurt parfait. Yummy!

Pan’s Mushroom Jerky ($8) This was ok, but know that I’m not a fan of traditional jerky to begin with. These are dried pieces of very chewy shitake mushroom (my husband said it was tougher than traditional beef jerky) with a flavor that is supposed to be similar to BBQ, a little sweet, a little spicy. Hubby came back for more but said he wouldn’t pay $8 for this small bag. I also want you to know that like traditional jerky, it got stuck in my teeth.

Maverick Cookies in Birthday Cake are similar to animal crackers, but with a slightly sweeter “birthday cake” flavor. It’s supposed to be lower in sugar than a leading kid’s cookie (which is unnamed) but they’re pretty similar to regular animal cookies nutrition wise.

Love, Corn in Smoked BBQ I really like these crunchy corn nuts! They are pretty simple: non-GMO corn, salt, sunflower oil, and spices (paprika, onion, and garlic). That’s it! I like the slightly smoky BBQ flavor but then I like all of the Love, Corn flavors that I’ve tried!

Brami Lupini I couldn’t find this flavor at the brand’s website but there are several others to choose from (and if you really like this flavor they are on Amazon). There are five servings in this pack and each serving (about 15 beans) comes with 3 grams of fiber, 4 grams of protein, and 35 calories. These are “pickled” beans and have a unique texture, they’re kind of chewy and are unlike the usual canned beans I consume, and remind me of lima beans I suppose. I like the flavor and the chewiness and appreciate that the bag is resealable so I can stick it in the fridge for a future snack.

Mooosh Gluten-Free Cotton Candy Snack What kind of magic is this? It looks and tastes just like cotton candy but it’s made with chicory inulin oligofructose and has no sugar. It also has 9 grams of fiber like “the kind you would find in vegetables” but I don’t think you can eat this and skip the salad and fruit bowl for health reasons. It also felt odd against the roof of my mouth and tongue, like I had shards of glass in my mouth, but it quickly dissolved into nothingness.

Chimes Ginger Chews are chewy gummy pieces of sugared ginger. The container they come in is adorable and inside there were 13 individually wrapped candies. A serving is supposed to be 10 pieces but I can’t imagine eating that many at once, they are spicy! They have a fruity hint of tropical mango and they are made in Indonesia.

NOTE: My box was missing an item and I received the following three items with no explanation, either they are replacements or bonus items.

Emmy’s Organics Brownie Baking Mix It looks like this item is no longer carried by Emmy’s Organics and should be prepared pretty soon, it’s about to expire. It’s made with cassava flour, coconut sugar, and more and can be prepared with oil, water, and egg substitute. I’m going to try baking this in my Ninja air fryer on the bake setting and see how it turns out.

Splits Split Pea Crips Falafel ($2.75) Sadly, the bottom of the package was “split” so I didn’t try these falafel-flavored split pea crisps.

The Froot Thief Strawberry Whips is similar to fruit leather except it’s in strings, like licorice. The ingredients are all natural and include apples, apple juice, strawberries, and more. Yum!

I’m always excited to try new snacks and to revisit snacks I’ve enjoyed from previous Vegancuts Snack Boxes! Each snack is pretty portable, which is important for me since I like to stick them in my tote bag when I go to work. My favorite item this month was a toss up between the Chimes Mango Ginger Chews and the Love, Corn BBQ flavored corn snack. My husband enjoyed Pan’s Mushroom Jerky, which was surprising to me, maybe I can convince him to eat better snacks now! I had a few items that were sent instead of a listed item, and that’s ok with me. It looks like August may contain similar snacks (mango ginger chews, vegan jerky) but they are from different brands and I look forward to trying them all!

Vegancuts Snack Box is a monthly vegan food subscription that delivers 10 or more organic and vegan treats each month. Snacks can include a pantry item or drink and most snacks are gluten-free. Each subscription box costs $24.95 monthly, or save a bit with a longer pre-paid term.
