The Ipsy Glam Bag theme for August 2024 was The Beauty Olympics! I received a bag and five beauty products including a makeup brush, highlighter, and more. Read on to see all of my beauty items!
Note: Ipsy sends many variations, so the bag I’m reviewing may not match everyone else’s. Also, my bag is sent for review, while subscribers get to choose an item for their bag and have their products curated to their beauty quiz!

Ipsy Glam Bag We received a bag that has felt block letters with an embroidered look, similar to what you might find on a letterman’s jacket. The bag itself is a light lavender shade of pleather, while the zipper pull is green. The inside is lined with yellow marigold polyester fabric.
Kiramoon Flower Melon Super Hydra Serum ($6) is supposed to boost hydration and take care of dry, dull skin with ingredients like aloe, hyaluronic acid, and glycerin. I was surprised to see that 5% glycolic acid is the second ingredient, so I would think this is also a chemical exfoliator. Perfume wasn’t listed and yet it has a melon-ish sweet fruity scent. It goes on as a watery gel and takes only a minute or so to dry but it felt sticky on my skin.

Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Matte Primer ($4.77 value) is a primer that gives the skin a matte finish and helps reduce the appearance of pores and it’s meant for oily skin, which is the opposite of my skin type. This sample size is ridiculously small – 3ml is about the same as just over half a teaspoon. It has dimethicone as an ingredient so it has that classic primer texture and there’s also niacinamide (good!) and perfume (not so good!). The product has a floral fragrance and it comes out creamy white from the tube. I’m passing this along to my daughter, since I know I won’t get any benefit from using this product on my dry skin.

SLMISSGLAM Retro Eyeshadow Brush ($21.50) I didn’t see this brush on the brand’s website but Ipsy says it can used to apply or blend eye shadow. The quality was good for applying and blending the crease color, and I have no complaints.
ELF Cosmetics Glow Reviver Lip Oil in Pink Quartz ($8) I feel like companies keep trying to come up with different names for standard products. This is called a lip oil but it looks and feels like good old slightly tacky lip gloss. ELF says it’s supposed to feel like a cross between a balm and gloss, but it doesn’t. The pink tint doesn’t show up at all but my lips looked glossy after I applied it to bare lips, although it could be paired with lip liner or matte lipstick if you prefer. I wore it all morning and didn’t realize it was mint-flavored so I had to go back and smell the applicator and yes, it is minty yet I never tasted the mint.
YC Collection Authentic Glazed Liquid Highlighter in Creamsicle ($18) is a liquid highlighter that leaves behind a shimmery golden effect. It has hyaluronic acid and squalene to help boost moisture wherever it’s applied. I placed some on the back of my hand and then dipped a makeup brush in it before dabbing it on my cheeks, cupid’s bow, and nose. It can be blended out if you don’t want too much glow but I was happy with the results by applying it sparingly.

Swatched from top are the YC Highlighter in Creamsicle, the ELF lip oil in Pink Quartz, the Kira Moon serum, and the Tarte primer.

I was surprised at how many full-sized products I received in my August Ipsy Glam Bag! The SLMISSGLAM eyeshadow brush, the ELF lip oil, and the YC Collection highlighter are all full-sized products, while the other two were sample sized, with the Tarte primer being a very small sample. I was more than satisfied with my products. The three full-sized products will be placed into regular rotation and the two sample sizes will be gifted to my daughter. The bag is not really what I would carry myself, but again, I will pass it on to someone who I know will be thrilled to have it for themselves. The value for my product assortment was around $58!
