The June 2024 Vegancuts Beauty Box theme was Sunshine and Self Care and I received five products, including nail polish and body lotion. Each month you can expect to receive vegan and cruelty-free products (and Vegancuts offers a snack box too)! See what I received in this month’s box below!
DEAL: Use the coupon code hellosub to get $5 off your first box on any Vegancuts subscription! It can only be used once per customer, but it can be used on multiple subscriptions at once so long as they are in the same transaction.
The product info card lists the items and names the charity of the month.
My Kitsch Bond Repair Solid Treatment ($17.10) I like solid shampoo bars, but this is a solid weekly conditioner bar! This one is supposed to repair hair by sealing the cuticle while marula oil helps it retain moisture. It also has dimethicone, which may build up in hair and cause problems, which may be why this is marketed as a weekly treatment. Dimethicone gives it that slippy feeling and sure enough, my hair was easy to detangle after using (you could probably get the same effect by using a bit of face primer on the ends!). It was lightly scented with florals and is meant to be used on the strands alone, I wouldn’t rub it into the scalp because it might weigh hair down too much.
Herbanology All Purpose Soap ($5.95) wasn’t listed on the card but it’s a liquid castile soap that is scented with terpenes, which gives plants their odors. I used this on a washcloth and it worked well, although the scent wasn’t for me. Castile soaps react with hard water and can leave a film on the skin, which is why I typically won’t use one, but know that if you do, be careful pouring this out, as it is watery and I poured out too much!
NutriCare PATCH On-the-Go Pack Natural Bamboo Bandages ($0.72) is a sample pack of bandages that are supposed to work for those with sensitive skin. The pad is infused with coconut oil (so there’s an expiration date coming up soon) and the bandages are latex-free. I have no use for these so I’ll pass them along!
Vegan By Happy Skin Aloe Vera Juice Hydrating Body Milk ($44.38) I just don’t understand why some companies overvalue their products: $45 for a small bottle of watery lotion that smells like it might be about to go off? That is housed in a hard plastic container? The first ingredient is water and there’s also glycerin, shea butter, jojoba oil, and aloe and it’s scented with parfum. It was easy to rub into my skin but the scent wasn’t quite right, like the oils are about to go bad (although it doesn’t expire until 02/2026). This is maybe a week’s worth of body lotion.
LondonTown Lakur Nail Polish ($16) Subscribers received one of three different items from LONDONTOWN and I received a nail polish in the shade Honey Lavender, which is described as “a magical muted lavender”. I rarely apply nail polish to my hands so I will try this on my toes next time I do a pedicure but it sure looks pretty. The brand is known for having 21-free polishes, so I don’t have to worry about it having toluene, formaldehyde, and other nasties I don’t want on my body.
Vegancuts wants us to get ready for summer with a pretty polish, bandages for boo-boos and bug bites, and hair conditioner for locks that may be extra-dehydrated thanks to the pool, ocean, lake, and just overall heat of summer. My favorite item, even though I haven’t tried it yet, is the nail polish, what a fun color! I used the hair conditioner bar and think it’s fine for once a week use, otherwise my hair would be weighed down too much. The value for this month’s box was around $84, with half of that coming from a small bottle of watery body lotion.
