Joanne Wong, an LA-based senior designer, has created a stunning design for the March 2023 Ipsy Glam Bag in celebration of Women’s History Month. The bag features a textured geometric pattern, as well as a cobalt blue zipper tape and a gold coin zipper featuring the goddess of love, Aphrodite.
Benefit Cosmetics Tight N’ Toned Pore Refining AHA + PHA Toning Foam ($5.62) is a bubbly foam toner, formulated to make pores look smaller while providing long-term benefits. The foam formula applies easily with my fingertips and absorbs quickly into my skin. I also appreciate that this toning foam is gentle, non-stripping, and non-drying, so it won’t irritate my sensitive skin. Plus, the fact that it’s suitable for all skin types and fragrance-free is a huge bonus. The power ingredients, Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) and Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) gluconolactone, work together to exfoliate and visibly tighten pores, while lemon extract gives my skin a fresh and revitalized look.
A sheer milky pink shade, Trust Fund Beauty Nail Lacquer in Ride Or Die ($15) is perfect for creating a delicate and feminine look that complements any outfit. I was impressed to learn that it’s 21-free, nontoxic, and cruelty-free, making it a great choice for those who value ethical beauty. I also appreciate that it’s made in the USA and is long-wearing and chip-resistant, so I don’t have to worry about touch-ups throughout the day. Not only does this nail lacquer look beautiful, but it also feels great to use a product that’s free of harmful chemicals.
Mischo Beauty Blush in Mischo ($41 for full-size palette, around $5.85 value) adds a touch of natural-looking color to my cheeks with its soft pink shade. I was impressed with the silky, smooth texture of the blush, which applied easily and blended seamlessly into my skin. The highly pigmented formula meant that a little went a long way, so I didn’t need to use too much product to achieve the desired look. As someone who values ethical beauty, I was pleased to learn that this blush is vegan-friendly and cruelty-free!
Pear Nova Lunar Lip Stylo in Light Year ($18.50) is perfect for lining, defining, and coloring my lips all in one step, making it an essential addition to my daily makeup routine. The highly pigmented and long-wearing formula means I can trust it to stay put throughout the day without having to worry about touch-ups. I also like its mauve-nude shade that helps me achieve a natural-looking pout that complements any makeup look.
Hey Honey Make A Splash Intense Hydrating Aqua Serum ($10.89) is packed with ingredients that provide intense moisture, such as honey, aloe vera, and squalene. It also contains niacinamide, which can help improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of pores. This serum has been a lifesaver for my dehydrated skin, leaving it feeling nourished and hydrated. Not only does it leave my skin feeling plump and hydrated, but it also absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave any oily residue, making it perfect to use in the morning before applying makeup.
Wow, what a fabulous Glam Bag we received this March – I couldn’t be happier with the selection. The nail lacquer was the perfect addition to my nail polish collection, and I can’t wait to show off my new lip liner. The blush is also a dreamy shade that I love because it gives me a natural-looking flush. Let’s not forget about the hydrating serum, which left my skin feeling refreshed and moisturized. But what I love most about this month’s Glam Bag is how it celebrates women empowerment. In fact, my bag included female-founded and indie beauty brands like Mischo Beauty and Pear Nova!
