Hygge Box is perfect for those who like to get cozy and comfy in their homes while connecting with their mind, body, and soul. The theme this month was Wonder + Delight and inside I discovered two tasty treats, a glow-in-the-dark blanket, and more. See what I received below! Please note that this is a review of the Deluxe Box and that extra item is at the end of the review.

Cocoa Counter Gingerbread Hot Chocolate (Around $7 USD) This subscription tends to send foods from other countries and this month we have two different treats! The first is from Wales. I was expecting this drink to taste like a cross between chai and Swiss Miss and that couldn’t be further from the truth. This is real grated milk chocolate, and a high-quality one at that, plus a hint of warm spices that turns into a decadent cup of hot chocolate. I warmed one cup of milk plus about two tablespoons of the mix (I had to look up the amounts to use as I don’t know the metric system) in a saucepan, although you can use the microwave if you prefer. I whisked it together but when I switched to a power frother then that was even better because it made a ton of foam (and I’m sure a blender would do the same). There’s enough in the bag for about 8 servings, if you can keep from eating it directly off the spoon straight from the bag.

On the left is the mix, on the right is everything heated and frothed.

Gnome Figure I received a different gnome figure in a previous box and so now he has a companion. They are both sitting on my printer, watching over me as I type. This one has nubby fabric that reminds me of a wooly sheep and he has a weighted bottom for stability. So cute!

Mud Masky Leave-Me-On Winter Mask ($24) This “leave-on mask” (um, moisturizer?) is supposed to protect skin from winter wind and cold, both protecting and repairing as the weather can be harsh. Some of the ingredients include sunflower seed oil, argan oil, jojoba oil, clay, and glycerin. It also has added fragrance, a little nutty floral. It’s non-greasy and fast absorbing and left a light barrier on my skin.

Mrs Bridges Christmas Preserve ($8.99) Our second foreign-made food is a jam made in Scotland of fruits such as strawberries, blackcurrants, and cranberries plus there’s some red wine and spices! The first bite brought to mind the spiciness of apple butter but then the berries took over plus there was an interesting texture, probably a mix of the cranberry and currants.

I served this on buttered sourdough toast but you could serve it with cream cheese or brie and crackers, on scones or biscuits, or with nut butter on a sandwich.

Calyan Wax Co Evergreen + Eucalyptus Soy Candle ($22) The scent that greeted me when I opened this candle was amazing, like a Christmas tree come to life! I think I prefer it better before I burned it (some candles hit my nose wrong when burning) but it was noticeable while burning and could be smelled as soon as I entered the room.

Deluxe Box Item

Under The Stars Blanket I wasn’t expecting a glow-in-the-dark blanket and it took me right back to being a kid, taking whatever glowing goodie I had into the closet so I could see its cool and eerie green light. The blanket is 58″ x 60″, has a hood, and it’s super plush! The stars on the outside have a texture to them but on the inside, the part that touches skin, it’s totally soft and smooth. It sheds but I hope that it won’t do so after I wash it, but that glow is so neat to look at and my teenager would probably like this blanket too.

I thought Hygge Box did a great job with their December collection, which had cozy items that were perfect for the season! The glow-in-the-dark blanket was so cool, I didn’t know they made them like that! I also enjoyed the hot chocolate mix and jam, both were tasty and of wonderful quality. The gnome has joined the other gnome on my printer, I guess if I get any more I can call it a collection. The candle and face moisturizer/mask rounded out the box nicely.

Below are some box opening pictures along with the front of the product information card!
