Cleansing the face is an important skincare step, which is why First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser ($24) is a must-have. This cruelty-free beauty product helps get rid of excess dirt, grime, and makeup without stripping the skin’s natural oils. Formulated with clean ingredients like aloe and allantoin, the cleanser also helps calm the skin and keep it soft and supple. The creamy, lightweight consistency feels very gentle on the skin. My face felt clean after, and a bit moisturized. This formula is also fragrance-free!
After washing the face, the next step would be toning, and Elta MD Skincare Skin Recovery Essence Toner ($10.96) can help you with that! It soothes, hydrates, and detoxifies the skin to keep it looking healthy. One of the key ingredients is malachite extract, which removes impurities and protects the skin from environmental stressors. It’s also what gives the toner its pale blue hue! With patented AAComplex (a combination of three amino acids), it helps repair damaged skin barrier, reduce redness, and pull moisture into the skin. Plus, it’s vegan and fragrance-free!
Christophe Robin Regenerating Serum ($49) came in full size! This formula promises to bring back my hair’s healthy appearance, with ingredients such as prickly pear oil that treats dry and fizzy hair and tucuma butter that deeply nurtures and nourishes hair. It comes in a pump lid, making it so easy to get the product out. The serum has a lotion-like texture but isn’t heavy and doesn’t weigh the hair down. This results in smoother hair with a healthy shine. It even has heat-protectant properties that can stand artificial heat up to 440F or 230°C!
Dr. Botanicals Turmeric Superfood Restoring Treatment Mask ($9.95) is a great way to soothe the skin this winter! Packed with turmeric root extract, it helps calm the skin and also provides hydration. It also has natural antioxidant properties that help improve dull skin and aid in skin regeneration. Another important ingredient is buckthorn berry oil, which reduces the signs of skin aging. My skin felt smooth after application! The mask didn’t feel too heavy or greasy. Instead, it was quite moisturizing!
I also received a Sunday Riley C.E.O. Afterglow Brightening Vitamin C Gel Cream ($65 Full Size 1.7 fl oz) which gives my skin added radiance! With ingredients like vitamin C and sodium hyaluronate combined with the power of allantoin and neroli blend, the gel cream promises to reduce visible signs of skin aging and brighten skin tone. This formula also helps keep the skin smooth and reduces the appearance of pores. The gel-cream consistency is fast-absorbing, minus the greasy feeling. You can use it for your morning or evening skincare routine, or even before makeup as a primer for a more radiant and dewy finish!
Here’s the new member’s gift for this month: a full-size Boscia Repair + Renew Waterless Advanced Treatment ($48). Ingredients include Retinyl Sunflowerseedate, which helps diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while improving skin tone and texture. It also contains bakuchiol, responsible for repairing the skin and reducing blemishes. A hybrid between traditional and plant-based retinol, this product is gentle on the skin. It causes no irritation or redness but instead hydrates for a youthful glow.
To cap off the box, here is a Ciate London Fierce Flicks Liquid Liner ($18.17) in full size. It has a deep black shade, ideal for creating defined eye looks. With a smooth formula and felt tip pen applicator, it allows you to create precise strokes. I like how it glides smoothly over my lids! The color pay-off is great, and it doesn’t flake either!
This month’s collection started my new year with great excitement! I like how moisturizing each product is. There were 7 editor-approved beauty items, including the new member’s gift, and I’m happy with what I’ve received. The skincare products worked fairly well, and they’re very gentle on the skin. The face cleanser and toner helped me remove impurities without drying my skin. There’s also a hair serum that rejuvenated my hair despite the drying cold weather. The treatment mask, gel cream, and retinol are also great. The box totaled $150 or so (including the gift), which is really amazing for the subscription price of $23 a month!
