BE KIND by Ellen extended warmth and kindness for Winter 2022 with a curated box packed full of products from brands who do good. It aims to make everyone feel loved through 6 socially conscious lifestyle products handpicked by Ellen, including a pair of socks, a scarf, and more! There are options on some items, and you’ll receive either this or that. To learn more about this curation, continue reading our review.

To keep the feet snuggly, fuzzy, and warm this winter, they’ve included Bombas Merino Wool Calf Socks ($20). This pair of socks keep the feet dry and cozy as they’re moisture-wicking. Made with a blend of polyester and spandex, they’re comfy and stretchy with the right amount of arch support. I also appreciate that they don’t slip down when worn. What’s also notable about this brand is they donate one to a homeless shelter for every purchase made. Bombas are my favorite socks, but I don’t wear long socks, and I wear a smaller size (one of the reasons they’re my favorites – they make smaller sizes!). So instead of keeping them in my socks drawer, I will just give these socks to my bestie!

Keeping your hair clean and moisturized during the cold days of winter is easier with Beachwaver Co. Be Confident Co-Wash ($20). (Subscribers will receive either this or Good Vibes Moisturizing Conditioner.) The wash makes the perfect hair product for people with dry, wavy, curly, and coily hair textures. Formulated with shea butter, coconut oil, and Abyssinian oil, it hydrates the hair while helping improve shine and moisture. It also has HIx® Alpha Bond Multipliers, an active strengthener that builds the hair from roots to tip, leaving it soft and smooth. It cleans and conditions, even with the chilly air of winter. It has an exotic warm scent of sandalwood, coconut, and vanilla that’s simply invigorating, transporting you to a beach campfire! It’s vegan (which I love) and formulated without parabens, phthalates, sulfates, and other bad stuff. It’s good for the hair and good for the ocean as well!

The holidays are more fun with fresh-baked cookies, especially when they come in cute, holiday-inspired shapes! We received a Holiday Cookie Cutter Set in the box to help us make festive cookies this season. There are 3 cookie cutters in the shape of a gingerbread man, a Christmas tree, and a star, and all of them were packaged in a muslin drawstring pouch with blue festive prints all over! There’s even a small card with an ingredient list for Ellen’s homemade Sugariest Cookies to bake this holiday season and share with loved ones.

Next up is a delicious treat: Ethel M Chocolates Ghana Single Origin Dark Chocolate ($8)! This chocolate bar is made with the freshest and finest ingredients and crafted in small batches without anything artificial added to it. They’re committed to sustainability, and that’s the most delicious thing about it! This particular bar I received is made using 65% cacao from Ghana. It’s creamy and sweet with a slight hint of delicious bitterness and earthy flavors (it’s indulgent to the core!). You can use it for s’mores, melt it into hot milk, or enjoy it on its own. Subscribers may also receive Ethel M Chocolate bar made with cacao from the Philippines, Indonesia, or Dominican Republic.

The Laude The Label Carob Bubble Scarf ($120) keeps your neck and heart warm for winter while keeping you in style – it’s either you get this or the up-cycled denim scarf. This product is made from responsibly dyed organic cotton by artisans in India. It’s flowy and light with a bubble texture. It comes in a chocolate brown color, which I’m not a fan of. I don’t wear brown, so the scarf is a miss for me. I’ll just put it in my gift closet. However, I love their mission of supporting different women artisans!

Lastly, here’s a DIAN FOSSEY Gorilla FUND Gorilla Adoption certificate for an act of kindness towards wildlife. Every Winter 2022 box includes a certificate of adoption of a gorilla with photos of your adopted wildlife friend – mine is Mudasumhiva and Rugira. This means you’ve contributed to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to help continue saving gorilla lives. They’ll even send you updates twice yearly!

The holiday spirit is in the air because of these products that are backed by purpose! Although the socks and the scarf are marked as my least favorite, I’ve enjoyed the other items in the box. The chocolate bar is heavenly delicious, the cookie-cutter set inspired me to bake this festive season, and the co-wash smelled amazing. It’s always a delight to receive goodies from brands that know how to do good and give back to the community. The adoption certificate is another unique inclusion as well!
